Have to agree there Union4sure!   Once again the wheels fall off at lee in the second half of the season.  No reason what so ever that lee is not playing next week with the team they had.

This is just comical especially coming from YOU!  Unless you issue the past coaches cell phones so you can secretly read their text how would you know (1) they are texting and (2) that the texts somehow are toxic. It could be called encouragement!!!!  And what is wrong with hugging the kids after a game?  You have no idea what relationships these coaches build with their players. Hell I still keep in touch with my coaches. And as far as the past head coach not coming to the games;  would you after being crapped on like he was?  You just have to much pride to admit you made a bad hire.  Rant over!

Obviously you haven't spent much time around Gary Chad or Jeremy. These coaches loved each one of these kids  and were well respected by the players because they knew that.  I also just flat out don't believe your comment about Gary saying anything about Hunter getting hurt to another player. If that was the case  then Gary would still be screaming because Hunter got the shit beat out of him.  I've watched Gary coach for years with my son playing for him and just to be honest he is just a flat out good Coach  and the kids love him.  I'm sorry yours didn't.

A freakin little league coach can get more out of these players than Akers/staff is right now.  Maybe because you practice in full pads on Thursday or you let a starter miss two practices each week and he still starts.  Cuss your players and allow kids to cuss you back until you get your feelings hurt so you kick one off.  This season is over for these poor kids who have busted their butts.  Sad situation. Completely agree LHL about missing to heal your starters.   But I was not referring to that situation at all. They have one that has missed one day about every week since he transferred in.  Missed two days last week  and at least one the week before not due to injury.

I'm a firm believer in finishing what you've started. But Akers is really making it hard. I honestly think the man doesn't have a clue.

Can't speak on the kid's reaction, but blaming it on a former coach is just dumb. GC's coach is a bum, and the mess is all his. Attitude reflects leadership. The problem starts with the SB and the AD - also bums. Acres was the only man that would take the job; no one else wanted it after 1. Meeting GC's esteemed AD & 2. seeing GC's crumbling facilities. GC finishes 2017 either 1-9 or 0-10, depending on how they play against Lee.

Without looking it up in detail here is my understanding of the transfer rule. As a student enters the ninth grade he can go to any school he wants and would be eligible to play no matter where he lives.   After he enters the ninth grade and decides to transfer, he must make a complete move to be eligible immediately. If he doesn't move he has to wait 365 days after  the transfer.   A complete move means the family must move out of their house and move into a house in the new jurisdiction.   The complete move has to be verified by both principles. Meaning the school he left verifies the complete move OUT of their residence and the new school principle verifies new residency. It looks like the VSHL has left this up to the principles of the schools so they don't have to deal with it. 

Tim Burke, Patrick Henry and Aaron Doughtery, Grayson County are coming to Gate City to coach football. Also, Brian Gibson will be on the staff.

Now that the cancer is gone and his buddies with him, maybe the healing process can begin.
