  1. Don't mean any disrespect to Graham, but as a Richlands fan, we have learned over the years to appreciate and support the team that knocked the Blues out of the playoffs, so if Graham wins next week, the following week we will be supporting the Gmen. Like I have stated on the board previously, I have family ties on both Richlands and Graham, but graduated from Richalnds, so in this one I'll pull for the Blues. Who knows, the week after I may be pulling for the Gmen. LOL
  2. That was just an example of playoff football. Ridgeview didn't play their best game, and Richlands did what they had to do to win. Hats off to both teams and the sportsmanship they displayed on the field. Didn't get tot go to the game, had to listen, but it came down to turnovers and Ridgeviews problems with tackling the running back and quarterback at crucial times. Richlands has been in these situations and Mance has had his share of heartbreak games for calling the wrong plays at the wrong time. I think that's what happened in this game with Ridgeview, and the playoff experience helped Richlands coaching staff. Thanks to all you Ridgeview guys for being on this board and showing the respect. Now you're all invited to Mitchel Stadium next Saturday to cheer for the team that won the game. Hope to see you there.
  3. Best of luck to both team, and safe travel to the Gmen. Bullit will be rocking as it always is, and its a great venue for football, I've enjoyed every visit there over the years, just didn't like the game results to some of them. Hope both teams remain injury free, God speed to all.
  4. To all you guys who are going, be safe and enjoy the game, work is on for tomorrow and I cannot make the game. Cheer the Blues onto victory and enjoy the venue, I hear its a good one. Be careful traveling and cheer for us fans that can't make it, would love to be there.
  5. Don't have a problem with your sarcasm, just asking for the up to date version, if there is one. The cleat deal seems like beating a dead horse to death so I would classify that dead sarcasm. I'm an old an crusty Blues fan that doesn't mind the back and forth and love to hear from you Union fans, but please keep it in the realm of present time, not ancient history. Thanks for responding, enjoy your post.
  6. Go on the Salem board and ask them the same question, my understanding that's where they were purchased, and Salem wore the same cleats which should have been a 15 yard penalty for illegal equipment, not the outstanding sin against humanity that happened 26 years ago. I'm usually mild, but enough about the cleats already, if that's all you got to hang your hat on, then I'm sorry for you, and how come it always gets back to bashing Richlands over the cleats when our players on the filed now were not even born for that unforgivable wrong doing. Come on guys, you're better than this. Cameron Allen and the G-men don't care if its muddy or not and they will be hard to beat, I'm going with Graham by 2 TD's.
  7. I think this will be one of those games that will hinge on turnovers and penalties. If Richlands don't clean up the yellow trash from last week, game over, but I think if both teams play their game it will come down to the final minutes of the game with perhaps a field goal to win. I'm hoping and going with Richlands by 3. Wish the best of luck to all players and everyone who is traveling, sorry to say but I have to work, but will be listening. GO BLUES!!!
  8. Best to both teams and Ridgeview should win, but this is the playoffs and Mance will have the Blues ready and fired up. Ridgeview will have to play their best, mistake free game to come away with a win. Best of luck to both teams, but Richlands pulls the upset with a late field goal. 27-24
  9. I have family on the Graham team, but I like Union's chances at home. Hope this game is played with sportsmanship at the forefront and injury free. I respect both teams and their fans, but I'm going with Graham in a close one.
  10. Wish both teams the best, but think Graham wins, on a dry field, on a muddy field, in snow, rain, sleet, sunshine, it doesn't matter. If Va High wins it will truly be an upset, and then I'll cheer for them next week, unless they play Richlands. Hope both teams play injury free and have a bunch of fun doing so.
  11. This is playoff time, and some teams that didn't play well in the regular season show up and plays their hearts out, while some teams that played well during the regular season show up with high confidence and plays the worst game all year. Like Forest Gump stated, like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get in the playoffs. Both teams have a good chance to take this one, but I think the Blues will pull it out in the end. Side Note: As a Blues fan, I want to thank all who responded to the death of Devon Johnson. Please keep praying for this family and this community. Thanks guys.
  12. Welcome to the board, appreciate your first post, keep posting, you're good in my book!
  13. What kind of BS answer is this??? Shows what kind of person you really are. Hope they delete you from this forum!! Where is your compassion for this family and everyone who knew Devin. I don't care what happened, and it doesn't matter. The family needs our prayers and compassion at this terrible time, not your condemning remarks.
  14. In my opinion, everybody has one, Graham is the team to beat right now. We all would do well to remember, this is the playoffs, each team has done well to get here, now what are they going to do with this opportunity. This is the second season and as we all have seen in the past, anything can happen. Well wishes to all area teams, but the games just got a lot more interesting, and the stakes a little higher. I'll pull for the Blues until they loose, then I'll pull for the team who beats them until they loose, and then anyone left from SWVA to bring home the hardware. Once again, good luck to all, LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!!
  15. I think the student's tragic death last week had a major effect on the teams overall attitude in the Graham game. Not to take away from Graham, as stated before, I have family on both teams, but Richlands was not into the game all night long. You could see that they were down, and even the coaches were affected. At their best, not sure they would have beat Graham, but I think it would have been closer than the largest margin of victory for either team in 40 years. Having stated all that; I think this will be a good game and I see Richlands using ball control (or clock control) and coming out with a slim victory. Both teams have had good games and bad games. Hopefully both will do well, and play injury free. Good luck to both in the playoffs and well wishes to either if they play Graham in the first round.
  16. We are praying for this young man.
  17. Our prayers are with this family, we have experienced the loss of a grandson and also a son-in-law this year and it is never easy to go through this thing we call death. If bullying was a factor, it is a shame, I guess as humans we just don't get it. If we cannot lift someone up by our words, then we shouldn't speak. Please pray for this family and ask God to ease their pain of this loss.
  18. Ridgeview has a chance to prove to all that they belong at the top in SWVA and i think this game could come down to mistakes and turnovers. I'll go with Ridgeview by a TD
  19. I won't make a pick on this one, I have family on both teams and wish all the players the best. Always a hard fought game, and this one will be no different. Tighten up the chin straps and be prepared to get hit, should be a good one.
  20. Let me get this straight---Ridgeview is already worried about playing Richlands---is that what you mean, really!
  21. Tazewell takes this on by at least 2-TD's
  22. Homecoming does have a tendency to throw everything off, but I see everyone on the Blues team getting into the action before this one is over. I'll go with the Blues 42 to 0 in this one.
  23. Somebody wake 99Bama up, he's dreaming again. This is Gate City you're talking about, not Alabama. Lol
