Yeah that P.I. was a ridiculous call but still an impressive drive by TW

S10SQUAREBODY4LIFE got a reaction from V-Cats in Abingdon@central
Almost nailed it 28-27, wrong team. Ugly game, central gave it away on the 45 penalties. Central qb looks to be a great runner and decent passer. The rest of the season is gonna be interesting.

Haven't saw total, but it was ridiculous at the amount and frequency. You name it, it was called. Kept a few key drives of abingdon alive resulting in points. Watching the game it appeared central was on cruise control, gotta finish.

S10SQUAREBODY4LIFE reacted to #BBN in Thomas Walker @ Union
I don’t see anyone bashing #10, like I said I think he’s one of the most athletic kids in the Mountain 7! Does that mean he is the best option for QB?
I don’t think so, when James Mitchell played QB in the Wildcat when Turner got hurt that year, yes Mitchell was probably the most overall talented kid on the field at any game Union played, but that don’t mean you want him being your starting QB!
To whoever said, until Union shows a little passing game and shows teams they can complete a few and try to keep the defense honest, they will see 11 men in the box, with all 11 coming to stop the run with no worry at all about the passing game, is this #10 fault?? No definitely not, but at some point a few changes have to be made, or you will never make it past Round 1!
Id hate to see the Sykes kid leave, but as a 10th grader, that could start on most teams around here, I can understand the frustration, everybody says “oh he is young, and hasn’t had the experience at the varsity level”, are also the ones seeing 3 and 4 freshman starting as well, and I have no problem with freshman starting if they are 1 of the best 11 on the field!

S10SQUAREBODY4LIFE reacted to Real Sasquatch in Graham vs Union
Both teams were chippy and both coaching staffs need to deal with it. If anybody got hurt because of lack of discipline on either side, that is unfortunate.

I'm not sure that our coaches wear backpacks. Isn't that a Union thing?

S10SQUAREBODY4LIFE got a reaction from Fredd in Bland at Rye Cove
Numbers are up at cove. Kids are doing some great fundamental things. They look like a young hungry team that will be in and win some games because they're consistent at small things often overlooked. Glad to see them headed back in a good direction. Kudos to some great coaching going on.

S10SQUAREBODY4LIFE got a reaction from Gridiron60 in Graham Vs Tazewell
Dogs with the upset, lead 13-7 at half.
Gmen respond in the 2nd half 35 unanswered with 2 pick 6s and a punt return mixed in there somewhere. Ol tim Woodward sneaks on the field and makes an impact.
Good luck to both, should be a good one with 1 score near the end to decide this one.

S10SQUAREBODY4LIFE got a reaction from Real Sasquatch in Predictions for Next Season
M7
RV/AB/U fight it out for 1st followed by Central/LEE/GC fighting for 4-6 & JSB
SWD
G/T/R/VHS/M in that order, maybe vhs & R goes either way
2D winner goes through G/RV/U

Don't think it was a choice he made to leave, just couldn't come to terms with current plan. Maybe numbers improve now? Would love to see them competitive again.

i agree with that too. anderson hit some big shots in the first half and didnt see the floor again til overtime

S10SQUAREBODY4LIFE got a reaction from BigWinners in Class 1 and Class 2 State Semifinal Scores
too many blown chances throughout the game, not just last second plays forcing overtime. substitution/timing? with rasnic and cuasano gone, another guard needed to be put in a position to help out with getting off a few shots and contributing and it just didn't happen. to be in it with the turnovers they made was great, they never stopped digging and fighting back. one of the better games i've saw in a long time but should have went the other way, in regulation.

If
RV can’t hold it together season to season and it appears they are moving on to different offense. I’m not sure betting on them is smart money. Their intangibles seem to stink.

Getting beat is acceptable, giving it away is totally not on the kids. Bad plan. Bad job subbing, had every chance to win.

ain't none of them know how to get a good elbow in during the flow of the game anymore, back in the day you took care of that without getting ejected.

S10SQUAREBODY4LIFE reacted to redtiger in Any coaching jobs coming open?
I didn't mean that as a shot at him, but a shot at those that want WRs all over the place and the ball in the air 30+ times a game. Davis is very varied within the I offense and very good at it. He stretches the defense vertically and horizontally with the plays he calls. Definitely a complete offense, just depends on what whoever is pulling the strings in Western Scott County wants

S10SQUAREBODY4LIFE got a reaction from Mountain Football in All-District/Region???
Fact: abingdon is in the district and their players deserve some attention also. Is it right? No, not on the same scale. Easier said than done, get better and learn to overcome and compete. They still only play 11 at a time.
Fact: O'Quinn numbers great, but their lack of a solid run game accounted for most of his attempts, just as tazewell. Still incredible numbers that exceeded anyone else, should be #1.
Fact: the most talented list of skill guys in 10 years. H2H should determine a lot when you're talking db vs wr, or rb vs lb, not qb vs qb. Stats are all you have but if you don't perform vs district games then your stats vs hogo, bd, and Cumberland don't mean squat. Just the same, your starters vs everyone's jv late in a blowout/shootout don't count for much but if you're into moral victories then buy your own awards. Defense had just as many tough kids with great stats so I'd hate to have to be the coaches lobbying for awards.
Great season, everyone is bringing more to the table each year and it's beginning to get to where almost everyone is competing and on a given night, anyone's game. Things aren't as simple as they used to be when everyone was is a running formation.
When our region can produce state contenders, you can't ask much more. In the end, to the victor goes the spoils.
Most everyone on here is in direct contact with these young athletes. Encourage all these kids to become better athletes, season by season. Weights, track, baseball, soccer, etc. If they learn to work and compete, they'll always represent.
