Speaking of Richlands, I saw where former Richlands' girls Coach Aaron Lowe was named the new boys' head coach at Honaker a couple of days ago. Odd that no one has mentioned it on here.

I don't see this happening in Virginia, to increase to 11 games. It almost took an act of congress to the league's principals to add one more game to volleyball, basketball, baseball, and softball seasons for next season. Virginia's contest limitations for those sports as it is lags behind neighboring states.

Region D with 4 teams in the final four. Lebanon's baseball team advances with a 5-4 win, closer than many expected. Winning close games is good though in preparation for tougher opponents as the field narrows. Rye Cove and Eastside softball both advance, which was no surprise. There will be cross bracketing in the semifinals, can they both make it to the finals to meet in the State Championship game? Central softball jumped out to a 4 run lead on Patrick Co and held on down the stretch. 2024 has been quite a good year for the Lady Spartans and Lady Warriors, with state championships in basketball and now both advance to the final 4 in softball.

Always good to see local teams win State Championships! Congratulations!

Right now, Eastside seems like the team to beat.

Union almost pulls off the big shocker, falling to Lebanon 1-0. Did anybody else play tonight? If not, that gives Lebanon an extra day of rest for that particular pitcher that the other teams won't get.
