I just searched the Appo/Union post on preps and couldn't find where anyone said that Appo paid the refs. 
I did find people complaining about 2 calls specifically. I think those complaints were very legit. Personally, I believe there were no congrats to Union because most Appo people were 100% certain that game wasn't going to be close and when Union came a hair from winning they couldn't admit that Union had a good enough team to beat Appo.
I will give you props for rectifying the Mitchell comments. I do sincerely appreciate that.

We get around. My wife and I are both retired. We usually pick a game from Knoxville to Roanoke to go to on a Friday. Sometimes we'll venture over to the Asheville NC area or the South Carolina Upstate. Been to some games in Eastern KY, and we usually go to Florida in the fall. We'll catch a game or two there and will sometimes stop overnight in Georgia and catch a game. Been to games in Mississippi and Alabama as well. Love going to high school games, especially in places where the town pretty much shuts down and everybody comes out to support the teams like they do in SWVA. We're probably going to be moving to Florida next year, but I definitely want to come back for a couple or three weeks during football season. 

DANG BRO! You was all over!!!!! great commentary. Now that Appo is going to have a down year. YES, IM SAYING IT!!! many in Appo get PO'd when i say this...So what, I ate humble pie on this team. I said we would be contenders with a chance of winning states. I had no idea we was going to be that good. I know for a fact...next year is a rebuilding year for Raiders. Who knows....SWVA might win one and quit hating on Appo as "arrogant" pricks. 

Coach Smith was immediately told to get back to sideline. He was told he would get penalty. So some slack was given and white hat came to him. Not the same as Turner with Turner holding game up. Ton of video to show both scenarios on the net.

Well I have to share one more thought on The Appomattox Championship game. With all my knowledge of football I am convinced that Robert E Lee had the worest game plan I have ever witnessed in a football game. The fake kickoff then back up and kick a squib kick giving Appomattox the ball across the 50 yrd. line most times on your side of the field. So whoever planned that out might need to rethink that. Appomattox didn’t need any help to win.

Congratulations to Appomattox from a Union fan that calls it like I see it. You guys have put together a great program that will be remembered for some time. This arrogance on here is not shared by all bear fans. The bears had a good season and over achieved. Our one dimensional offense player will graduate this year. I looking for bears to be very average next season will have to Waite and see. Again congratulations on a fantastic run.

RE LEE came to play and they were a great team.  Two great teams met and battled with Appomattox having to fight back most all of the game.  Javon Scruggs (#1 QB) is a PLAYER.  Every time Lee took momentum he did something to swing it back to our favor.
I was super proud of our kids, especially some of out back ups!  #4 Drew Mann went out on the first offensive series and then #54 Daniel Baldwin never came out after half time (maybe even before the half).  Both of those guys are starting Dog and Middle Linebacker on defense and T.E. and left tackle on Off.  For Appomattox to overcome those two major losses and still battle back to win was amazing.
Plus, RE LEE scored on one of the most bazaar plays that I have ever seen.  Punter shanks the punt so bad that it never crosses the LOS and rolls to their side of the field. I thought it rolled OB but I guess it didn't.  They pick it up as our guys caught up in the excitement of the big stop and then this punt and......the kid runs it for a TD.  
44-1 over the past three years (and that "one" lost in the 3A finals yesterday).  Don't hate on them for that success.  All dynasties start somewhere and Appomattox along with Coach Smith and company are on their roll.  Will they win it next year..........people didn't think they would win it this year.

I watched film on how we blew it in 2012 and 2013 and I could see how people might get upset. I wouldn't ever go as far as to say that it cost a team to lose a game, but then again im not on the field playing so idk what it sounds like out there. But no one has had a problem with it in the last few years.

Horn was fine.  In fact as I sat here in Appomattox the other day I heard the train whistle and it put a smile on my face.
 
Done talking about the mythical holding call.  It was in mid field but the play was coming out way so the visitors sidelines had a great view on 82's inside shoulder and how 2 was pushing that shoulder area.  He had enough leverage to not allow 82 to get turned.  Don't trust my word I understand that, but I had guys from Ridge View, Gate City and another SWVA school sitting right beside me .... IE .....they had the same view I did and NONE of them were complaining about a holding call!   I will also say that these same guys erupted when 82 broke his long TD run.  They were pulling for Union but non of them said a word about a "holding call".
 
They did question how a coach can walk clear to mid field to argue a illegal procedure call and stop the game for 60-120 seconds and THEN call a timeout.  Kinda funny that they shanked the punt right after that (although I feel for the kid).

No to Cross Bracketing. I like the idea of BEST IN WEST vs BEST IN EAST....plus the limited travel without it. 7.5 from Hampton to Big Stone Gap. I had to seriously think about that one this weekend and I chose to stay home and stream.

That would have been a more than 7 hour drive for Poquoson!!! I've always been a fan of cross bracketing, but after seeing how things played out this year, I'm OK with it. Especially, with the higher seed hosting the semifinal. Overall, I believe they got it right this year.

That kid is simply just amazing. I was in barber shop talking to a kid from a 6a school in Norfolk and he knows about Mac. I was surprised. Cant wait to see what he does on next level
 

Just give in and make the trip to a place Gate City plays and watch Mac while you have a chance lol. 

Very good crowd for 4.5 hour trip. Seems like you had more cowbells than I remembered from last year. Thought it made for a great atmosphere.

I saw that coming and we was going to let a few big banger plays go like Mitchells TD run. What surprised me the most was the D. yalls D held their own and got through on our line at will. Scruggs could not throw the ball because he didnt have time. Great showing by Union, but Im proud of our boys going down to Bullit Park that was loud and proud of their team and coming out with win. 28 game winning streak is something to be proud of. Yall defended streak well.    Mitchell is going to be good but I know he was out of position and that is not his game, but he did it well tonight and tried his best. He did show that he will be a great player on next level...hope he goes to Tech.    Hope all my Appo fam, players, and SWVA fans get back home safe. Looking forward to many more battles in future.
