It does seem like Grundy is starting to separate from the rest of 1D.

Don’t forget, PH beat Grundy head-to-head in week 1. Both may have changed, but they may be a favorable matchup against each other.

GW and PH both barley got by Rural Retreat and Grundy dismantled GW so if you by that alone you would give the edge to Grundy. I haven't seen and D teams in person other than the little bit i seen at the GW jamboree before the actual season started and I don't believe any contenders out of 1D were there that day. As of now I'm going with Grundy to represent 1d.

Galax had 4 unforced turnovers and looked to be just going through the motions in the first half. Probably the worst first half they played in a long time. Fort is a middle of the road team at best but they play hard and the longer you let a team like that hang around the bigger chance they have at pulling the upset. If Galax plays like that against a good team they will get smoked. Galax has a lot of potential but they will have to clean up the mistakes and play full games instead of half a games if they want to make another run.

Be careful, some get mad if you suggest Radford has an insane collection of skill position talent.

Tucker kid is a workhorse!!!! He just grinds it out every time he’s handed the ball. Tough, tough player! I would imagine he’s helped Galax a lot getting 1st down yardage this season. He goes & then goes a couple more. 

Regardless of why the game was Saturday, how did Giles conduct practice on Thursday if the coaches were in Blacksburg?  Routine is vital, especially when dealing with 16 year old kids. It just seems like it would be a massive distraction and could help explain the lackluster performance Saturday. 
 
Edit to add; and as others have pointed out, The Fort is virtually unbeatable on Saturdays in September/October. 

The band director did tell me that the night of the game. But I’ve since had conversations with those mentioned who verify what the director said. 

Fort Chiswell principal told me this game was to be played on Thursday. Giles coaching staff would have to miss the VT game so they successfully got it moved to Saturday.
Thats twice so far this season Giles coaches have moved a game for VT football. Seems to me that could be a distraction. 

Radford opponents like Gate City doing well and Fort Chiswell with a Giles win. GC over Union and Abingdon, and FC over Giles are unexpected wins for Radford. Bluefield losing to Woodrow Wilson and Union losing to GC unexpected. That's 5 games that went the wrong/unexpected way against Graham and in favor of Radford and all 5 matter in the power rating between Radford and Graham.

Radford will get massive amounts of points of having beaten previously unbeaten Christiansburg. 

Hope Forts AD isn’t reading this thread. He’ll be trying to schedule all Saturday games from here on out. 

People from from Grayson claim Riverheads was cheaters for winning in class one like most people in the state claim but now you're no different other than the fact you have more students and will never win like Riverheads

Galax backup running back scored on Graham's backups, does it really matter? Y'all won the game, everyone that was there knows Graham was better. Both teams have some work to do if they want to make a run in my opinion. After all I read on here I didn't think Graham would have to pass as much as they did but everyone knows Galax weakness on defense is the secondary. Galax passing game still nonexistent but at least they completed a few last night. Of the three class two teams I've seen this year that were picked to make some noise come playoff time( Glenvar, Radford, Graham ) Radford was the most impressive talent wise but Graham is still solid and better coached in my opinion and I hope these two meet in the playoffs. I think Graham can definitely run the ball on Radford but I don't see them passing like they did against Galax on them, not saying they will not complete passes but it will be tougher to do so. If you give Radford's QB time he is going to complete some big pass plays. Intriguing matchup if it happens.

Kudos to Galax too! I think you played well. You’re one guy Tucker I think is his name, a workhorse. You’re O line is strong too! I’m no coach but I’d say the best line we’ve played. 

Why is Galax kicking field goals? They'd be better off going for it.

My exact point! Grayson just beat Rural Retreat 39-0 yet someone said they are not that competitive. That seems pretty competitive plus winning brings out more kids and when you are already the biggest fish in the pond odds are your programs will keep getting better. Ask the rest of Class 1 and I'll bet you they say move them to Class 2. The consistent winners in Class 1 are the ones with the biggest enrollments if you check on a yearly basis. There are exceptions but these exceptions are rare.

Plain and simple fact is Grayson could of stayed in the MED with zero issues. The only time that travel would been different would of been during playoffs. Which if you look at the geography of 1C and 2C is minimal difference.  Grayson county is now the laughing stock of 1A

Most coaches in the situation Galax was in Friday night, down 3 scores in the 4th quarter, are working on stuff for the future. They are going to need to grind out games and control the clock in November/December. At the end of the day, the result of this game is irrelevant. Galax’ season starts in November. What they do now is preparing for that. 

I just think you should play where your numbers put you.
