If Graham doesn't have the strength advantage it's going to be a long night for them because they will not touch Stewart or Reed in open-space. The key to the entire Beaver season will be the play of the OL and DL. If those positions are stout Beaver will be in serious contention for state title #11.

Pardon me, but I don't give a flying whoop WTF you do. You aren't any better than any of the rest of us and your opinion holds no more value either, especially with me. Keep beating your chest though bro, maybe someone will bow to your inflated sense of self-importance and superiority.

I'm amazed that someone can watch that video clip and deduct so much from it. You guys ought to put such talent to use doing something productive for man-kind. The fact is this kid made a very poor decision by running onto a poorly lit racetrack wearing a black helmet and firesuit with RACECARS still operating at a reasonable rate of speed. Unfortunately, he paid for his poor decision with his life; hopefully someone will learn from this and not make a similar poor decision.

There will be a lot of good high school games on the ESPN networks that weekend, starting Friday evening.

At one time, VA did have a page with live updates and stats, along with video and audio feed.  They still have video broadcasts, at a price though, as the above post has.  A couple of days or so after the game it becomes free for view when its archived.

KDCountry 105.5 covers Altavista's games.  I assume they'll have the championship game too.  Supersports 101.7 covers Radford football games, but I don't know if they carry basketball too.

Have the owners decided if they will rebuild? Gonna miss that place, it's the only restaurant I would eat at when visiting my parents. It was our pregame Beaver/Graham ritual.

Pretty sure Radford is SWVA. well at least the New River Valley thinks we are SWVA, people down on the border might not think so but we do and PROUD of it.

If the field is dangerous, move the game to a site of Haysi's choosing.

if the field is not dangerous, play the game as scheduled.

    It should be that simple.

Not really sure if I agree with making certain rounds of the playoffs having to be played on turf.  Seems like that would always give the "speed" teams an advantage. That just doesn't seem fair.

Football is (generally) an outside sport played in the elements.  If we are going to worry about having the best playiing conditions possible, then why play ANY regular season games in the rain/snow?

The turf/speed teams will want as many games as possible played on turf because that is what they are used to playing on, and what gives them an advantage.

The natural grass teams are going to want as many games as possible played on natural grass because it is what they are used to playing on, and because it might give them an advantage.

Bluefield_Rules got a reaction from GMan in I've been checking out two WV message boards...
Wayne is the two-time defending state champs, won 32-straight games, and beaten Bluefield the last two meetings by a combined score of 99-17. Why wouldn't people be picking Wayne and Wayne by a lot, especially those that haven't seen Beaver play this season? Bluefield will taking the field on Friday night with not only the #1 playoff seed on the line, but the pride and respect they have lost in recent match-ups with Wayne. Predictions are meaningless with the two teams little more than 48 hours from strapping it on and going head-to-head. It's time for this current group of Beavers to earn their respect and doing so starts Friday. You cannot live on the past when you weren't a part of the past successes; you have to play your way into the tradition and leave your legacy.

Hopefully Graham can hold on and get the win tonight. Regardless, tonight's game takes some of the wind out of the invincibility floating around about Fort Chiswell heading toward the playoffs.

I am looking forward to listening to Jim Nelson call the game tonight. The last time Bluefield had a true professional play-by-play man was Fred Persinger II in 2004; the station running him off for Bob Redd was a HORRIBLE mistake. Whoever made the decision to bring Nelson abroad as Voice of the Beavers should be commended.

Bluefield_Rules reacted to Bluefield_Rules in The 2013 Atlanta Braves Thread:
The Heyward injury is another in a long line this year, but might be the most significant. ATL has no one to replace the intangibles he brings to the field; and his hitting had really picked up since moving to lead-off. The Braves postseason success is going to ride squarely on his ability to comeback from this injury in October. And not to burst anyone's bubble, but the playoffs are not yet a guarantee despite where things stand today.
