Like everyone has said, Bluefield is just that good! Not a team in SWVA or southern WV that can touch them, not even the Blue Tornado. They're better than last year even with loss of Truck & Mookie. 

Somebody better scream down there and tell those guys to enjoy that moment cause when it's gone you never get that feeling back.

Congratulations to Gate City on a game well played.  This in no way affects their outlook at a 2A state championship, and it may well refocus them for the stretch run.  May one or the other of us win the title.

Congratulations to the Bulldogs! They had a much better season than anyone thought and I bet their numbers are up next year as far as players and in a couple years may be a force to reckon with.

I doubt there is a younger team in the area.  The team, coaches and community need to be patient.

Graham will never have their "own stadium".  They will always be forced to pay rent or play at Tazewell...simple as that...;^)...

Under the impression that it was lack of participation from students in the weight lifting program.  I guess with other sports going on it thins out, but I would think he would've thought of that coming in.  There was a lot of excitement looking forward to the new season and different coaching, now we get to do it again.  Tazewell needs to support the next coach and continue on, move forward.

I had heard that Ashiq was an exchange student, but could have heard wrong.

You are already taking away all identity and character buy naming a school "directional whatever".  With consolidation, the schools will lose their towns identity anyway, at least give them a name to be proud of, one they can identify with.
 
I've always thought Bluestone River High and Clinch River High would be nice...any and all nicknames would be up for debate.
 
Although, the Pounding Mill Quarriers and the Bailey Switch Railroaders wouldn't be too bad...

But panthers don't exist in this area...just ask the VDGIF...

The central VA County schools that you mention; Nelson, Amherst, Appomattox, Buckingham, Orange, Louisa, Amelia, Madison, Floyd, Franklin and I'll throw in William Monroe (Greene County) and Culpeper were consolidated right after WWII from small k-12 schools in one building. It wasn't due to dwindling enrollment it was to offer the full high school experience to students at the small rural schools in those counties. Comparing them to the situation in SW VA right now is apples to oranges.

And neither is Giles.

Lee isn't a county school. Thomas Walker is also in Lee County.
