I asked my wife to hold off on delivering our son for a few days....told her if she waited until after August 1st, that we could redshirt him in the 8th grade.   She didn't care much about the idea though. lol

There are a lot of tough games and very good teams for Haysi, JI Burton, Fort Chiswell, Gate City and Richlands between now and then but it would be something special.

It was. I will accept defeat in 3OT to a tradition like Richlands. Although I don't like Richlands or Gate City I respect them both. Don't tell them that over on the Mountain District Forum. But I hope they represent this side of the state and one of the two brings it back to this side of the state.

I think the big question is why did you go through Meadowview?  That is about the 10th best way to get to Haysi from Galax

Speaking of, these two teams haven't played each other in the Mance era. So they don't know each other. That makes this matchup all the more exciting.

What a game!  With 90+ seconds to go, I thought we had it.  Just goes to show that you just never know.   Both teams made a statement tonight...Richlands proved that they are still the team to beat in SWVA and VHS showed that they are on the rise.  Good luck to Richlands next week.

Pretty accurate. Richlands has been there/done that. And they didn't quit. Any other team would have rolled over in those waining minutes and given up, but this team didn't. Can't wait to head to Pearisburg!!

Vhs came to play and they did.The Blues just didn't give up and this game will be remembered for a long time. Sure hope you can go next week BigRhs. It should be another good one.;

Big Congrats Bearcats !  They played hard and with a lot of heart !  Sure had all of us Blues fans worried for most of the game !
