This sounds very stupid but I have family in the uva area and both school agreed to play on Friday because vhsl said that the high school game from week three on would be on sat so they where doing the entire state a favor by playing a day earlier and this would be an on going Friday game for the two colleges so that is pretty cool if so that two schools as big as that would do that for that reason is just really cool and very classy I think

Just want to say good luck to all the teams that play tomorrow night and Saturday. to the ones that have to travel have safe travels.

I was at that Clintwood/Sussex game watching a friends step son play for Clintwood.  The Wave just punched them in the throat and gradually just wore them down by the fourth quarter.  It was pure SWVA football. 

All Clintwood heard leading up to their game with Sussex in 2011 was how much faster Sussex was then any team Clintwood had ever seen. Clintwood had no chance of beating them. They had just beat Covington 88-8 the week before and Clintwood held them to 8 points. They did it by hitting them in the mouth on every play. It took our o a little while to get anywhere but over time we wore them down. Also Clintwood was playing with a back up QB our starter got hurt the week before at GW. I know Gate City win or lose will give it thier all and never give up. They will be hitting just as hard in the 4th as they do in the 1st reguardless of the score.        

If the fans, coaches and players from the 2011 Galax state runner-up team would be honest, they would say they got beat by a Clintwood team full of football players.  Galax had an abundance of athletes in that game.  Clintwood hit them in the mouth and continued to hit them in the mouth until the final whistle.

Nah you haven't said anything out of the way at all. Other than telling high school kids they won't have as far to go home to "yo momma's" after getting their ass kicked Saturday. You've been nothing but disrespectful towards the town and program. I honestly never heard of Buckingham County until last year, and I've followed VHSL sports for 42 years. I hope and pray your team shows up with this same attitude.

Come on Southy and FalconMan ! We all have been waiting on your all's "constructive and enlightening" insight on the last game and this huge playoff game. Don't quit on us now ! You all claim to be the leaders of the "Falcom Awesome " chant. So here we are...tell us what happened and what we are going to see tomorrow night ?

All who like Saturday playoff games are comin from us that are used to it that way and all who like Friday night games are used to that... so its jus what we are used to and jus a difference of opinions.... makes the board work if ya knw what i mean!!! I like it when its a combo of both as well so u can watch a game friday somewhere and saturday somewhere else!!! Great points on both sides!!! Good luck to all SWVA teams in the playoffs guys!!!

Ryan I guess there should not be Monday night or Thursday night NFL games then.... NFL games should just be played on Sunday!!! My point is the semis and championship are Saturday and we all know routine means a lot this time of the year...and like suprbeast beast said it sets the playoffs apart from the season....but on the same note I always did like watching Richlands on Friday then getting to watch my tigers on Saturday!

In BSG, playoff games were always on Saturdays...makes the games stand apart from the regular season and feels like a new start. I don't like Friday night playoff games at all.

You stated that you were "Not a Lee person at all", but in the Lee/Appomattox thread you said that you "Love the generals..." I have never heard someone say that they love a team, but aren't a die hard fan. If you're a Lee fan then say so. Nothing wrong with that. They've had some tough breaks over the last few years, and have been a much better team than their record would indicate. I personally LOVE the bears. I pull for Gate City, Lee, Richlands, Clintwood, and other local teams anytime I can, but I don't "love" them. That "love" is reserved for Union because they're the team that I sit on hard, concrete bleachers for in the rain and frigid cold. They're the ones that I have traveled for hours to go watch on Friday nights and in the playoffs.
 
If you don't like Union or think they are overrated then that is certainly your right. I think that they are capable of winning every game that they play, and I should, because I'm a FAN. I'm not so over zealous that I think they are unstoppable. I know they have their faults and weaknesses and their coaches don't always make the best decisions, but I still go and cheer them on every Friday. And heck, every player should walk onto that field each Friday KNOWING that they can win their game regardless of records. If they don't then why do they even bother showing up for each contest.
 
Also, I don't know too many "bad" teams that have back to back 8-2 seasons this year, or that have come from 21 and 14 down to win ball games. 
 
That's just one FAN's opinion.

You do realize that Union beat Richlands this year don't you? They had to overcome 21 point deficit but did it nonetheless. Of course, Richlands would probably win in a rematch. 
Perhaps they don't beat Gate City as they lost 38-8. Doesn't automatically mean they wouldn't win in a rematch, though the chances are extremely slim.
 
Union would not beat Bluefield.
 
Perhaps they don't beat Abingdon this season but I'd say most seasons they could.
 
Union is a young team who has overachieved.
