Really odd situation. My son and some buddies went down this morning. The Madison team had already left before the  announcement.

Definitely, hate she got hurt. Sounds like her not pitching could possibly cost Madison a chance at appearing in championship game???? We can agree to disagree about who's better, Osborne and Estes are obviously the cream are the crop in 2A. 

I was at Radford for the 2017 baseball/softball 2A championships. The best teams won those titles.

My families (both growing up and current) have had an unusual Tech-UVA mindset.  Different members of the family had their favorite school but never pulled against the other team.  I'm a Hokie first but still pull for the Hoos as they represent the Commonwealth and Conference.
My earliest memory of college basketball was watching the '76 ACC Tourney with my dad.  I remember us being so excited about UVA's unlikely run which ended with Virginia shocking the tobacco road elites by claiming the title. That winter I pretended to be Wally Walker with a makeshift nerf hoop in my house.  The Ralph years were particularly special but the title proved elusive .  We all watched more special teams come and go but a natty seemed agonizingly out of reach.  And now, 43 years after a young Terry Holland won UVA's first ACC Tourney, Tony Bennett has now brought home the ultimate trophy.

And that’s exactly what happened in the 2nd half and overtime last night.  So thankful and satisfied today!  From a pipe dream to reality.

There ended up being six teams from the 2018 @ArbysClassic field that won state titles:    Bearden (Knoxville, Tenn.), Buford (GA.), Cardinal Newman (S.C.), Carmel Christian (N.C.), Trinity (Louisville, Ky.), Wenonah (Birmingham, Ala.). #HCBB   great state

Kuhn’s become known as an arm killer, and that’s precisely why UVA doesn’t land top-flight pitching talent anymore.  Also the reason UVA’s slided toward being a .500 team and is missing NCAA Tournaments now.

I said this earlier and i believe it to be still true. ER had the talent to win the title. However, the coach has much to learn about post season play.  Radford took away a big cog and ER coach could not adapt. I’ll write it off to inexperience...but the man has to learn from this...so far, he had not shown the ability to improvise, adapt and overcome. 

Madison County ran the table in 2009-2010 to win an undefeated state title. 

I’m 100% positive this guy is still squeezing into the letterman jacket and heckling teenagers all the while holding popcorn between the knees, a coke under one armpit and both hands full of hotdogs with a cowbell around the neck😄

Great City...playing against Gate City in the late 70s and early 80s was “a unique experience”  to say the least. Our players and fans were exposed to all manner of intimidation attempts, slurs (racial and otherwise), and verbal attacks from the fans. Didn’t matter the sport either. We took it as a challenge. Our coaches warned us to not get caught up in the environment there. I always looked forward to playing at GC because of the extra incentive of trying to shut up the 35 year old letterman jacket wearing loudmouths in the stands.  But I never recall any cheap shots by the players; physical play, yes.  Cheap shots, no.  
What does that have to do with this current debate?  Not much.   Just some firsthand historical experiences.

I hope Gate City posters realize what they have accomplished. I am officially calling it: in the previous six months of material posted on SWVASports, they have officially surpassed Abingdon as the "most disliked fan base by their neighbors" in SWVA.
