Deleted Account 5,203 Report Share Posted August 21, 2011 Still 7 games back of Philly. 8.5 games ahead of SF for the wildcard. I can live with that. Winning the division is irrelevant in the age of the Wild Card. Just gotta make it there first.

Deleted Account 5,203 Report Share Posted August 22, 2011 6.5 games back of Philly now. They lost today. Philly's just 7-5 in their last 12. That's as vulnerable as they've looked all season.
vthokies4life 10 Report Share Posted August 24, 2011 Nice little 6 game win streak going on right now, including 8 wins in our last 10 games. Heyward also hit a grand slam last night to put us up 5-0. Good thing because we ended up winning 5-4. It's been a solid stretch for us. Let's see if we can keep it up. vthokies4life 10 Report Share Posted August 25, 2011 Well Philly lost tonight... but so did we. Naturally. I don't believe in jinxes or anything like that, but if we go on more than a 5 game losing streak now, I'm gonna quit posting in this thread. I'll take one for the team. Lance 228 Author Report Share Posted September 1, 2011 8 back right now, but the espn site updated the playoff probability % and Philly is 99% and Atlanta is 98%...so...looking good.

Yeah, Atlanta has something like a 9-game lead on the Giants/Cardinals. That's fairly darned safe. Milwaukee and Arizona are just as hot, though...tough first round. 1inStripes 933 Report Share Posted September 2, 2011 Im a little worried about the starting pitching situation. Hoping Jurrjens can get back in a groove and Hanson is okay before October. Nice pickups in getting Diaz back and Jack Wilson if they need them for the run.
Lance 228 Author Report Share Posted September 11, 2011 Braves had better get it together or they are going to fool around and drop the wildcard...3 game losing streak and only 4.5 up in the WC race now....grrrr.
Lance 228 Author Report Share Posted September 18, 2011 Braves still trying to give it away...they are making me nervous.
Deleted Account 5,203 Report Share Posted September 18, 2011 Limping to the finish. They might just barely make it, but they're out in Round 1. They look terrible.

bigcotton 40 Report Share Posted September 19, 2011 Hey, i told ya it was about time for them to flop......hate to say it, but it really looks pretty bad.
1inStripes 933 Report Share Posted September 19, 2011 9 games left, 6 on the road against the Marlins and Nationals. If the Cards lose to the Phillies tonight, I don't believe they Braves lose the WC. May get as close as 1 game, but the Braves find a way to get it done. Bluefield_Rules 46 Report Share Posted September 20, 2011 The calendar flips to September and the Braves take a nose dive. This has been the case for nearly a decade now, whether in the closing weeks of the regular season or the playoffs. If Atlanta does hold-on to the wild card, and that's a big if, can they actually win a playoff game?

Lance 228 Author Report Share Posted September 20, 2011 unless they just get hot again fast, they are not going to be there to win anything...
1inStripes 933 Report Share Posted September 21, 2011 If Hanson and Jurrjens can come back their chances are still pretty good IMO. It could give the team a lift, not only with a fresh trusted arm, but also it could be a mental lift.
Bluefield_Rules 46 Report Share Posted September 22, 2011 The last I heard it's highly unlikely that Jurrjens will be back this season. Regardless, with the wild card lead at 1 1/2 games and the remaining schedule for both the Braves and Cards it's about time to put a fork in the Bravos. Atlanta plays horribly in Washington and I'm not sure they could beat the Phillies bench-players.
