It could very well go the way you stated, i just think that VA High is a good football team and the coaches are doing a good job with them. I just think it will turn out to be close through the whole game, but VA does cause me to worry about their speed. teams with speed have given the blues a hard time. How come the coaches just started using Kiser at QB, was there an injury, or was it just a matter of trying to find more balance in the O ? Fair enough. I believe it was more of trying to find balance. I believe coach Crist is good at putting players were they need to be. Just took a little while to find #44's slot. Of course we all disagree very often but that's what makes it fun and causes us all to be here. I have tried to be fair with you and I think I have been. But in this thread you are making it very hard to defend this line of discourse. Hurricane and Canes both are really great guys. I know them and will always defend them. They have both been here a long time and have always been a lot of fun. No matter ho good Gretna is. Beat Richlands and you will have it. you're gonna get some guys on here who have beef with you're team(there are several guys on here who dislike Haysi), just roll with it and know that your success is killing them. Of course, I base all of this on just my personal experiences with Va High over the years...to me they have never had an ounce of class. Last time I was there, the student section behind the Hurley bench (basketball game) was taunting Coach Cooper to the point of trying to pick a fight and shouting "USA" whenever Dustin Waynick got the ball because they assumed he was some sort of foreigner, which he's not? I mean WTF? Who does that? Just seems to me you guys don't know how to win without the chest thumping...overall your program has been way down for many years, which, trust me I know the feeling...but once you finally win a playoff game you just don't know how to act. In contrast to teams like Honaker and Clintwood or Richlands who have been winning for years and you just don't see them doing it. Don't be so hungry for respect to be given, just earn it. Couldn't disagree more. The program has been down and when you are a #13 seed and go to Gretna, who was a huge favorite, and pull off the upset, people are bound to be excited. I don't think it's "chest thumping" I think it is optimism about the future, and liking where the team is at right now. As far as respect goes, I know I don't necessarily crave respect for the team/program, but I think we've done enough this year to at least earn a bit of it. I keep hearing this "when will we get respect" phrase, but I've been in this thread since the beginning and I don't recall this need for respect showing up. Maybe I missed it, but I know I certainly am not begging for it, nor do I disrespect Richlands and the program they have. I remember Marion had beaten VHS earlier in the year, but that day belonged to Scott Jones (VA Tech). My God, it was cold. Why can't we play HS football 10 months a year? This is great!! There are a lot of Richlands fans on this site because we love our team and the Blues for years have had one of the biggest followings around here, but you will see just as many that do not like Richlands ! Most RESPECT our coach and where the program has gotten too, and has stayed for several years ! We have EARNED that respect with years of winning, but they're still a lot that don't like the blues and you see many post against them. I try not to respond to stuff like what has been on this thread and try to keep everything about football, because i just believe that is what it is suppose to be about, but I can promise you, this is not a Richlands fan site. There are just about as many fans of other schools on here. Richlands is talked about a lot because we have been winning for a lot of years now, just like Gate City, Graham, Bluefield, Clintwood/ Powell Valley ( now union ) and also Honaker and Haysi are there, but a lot of the blues talk is not always positive..........in fact, a lot of the talk from the other fans is usually something against them, and that is their opinion and their right, as long as it doesn't get personal about the kids. Don't take the football talk personal and let the team earn their respect on the field and don't try to earn it on here. That just will not happen. It will backfire. Wins earn respect, and it usually takes more than just one season. Sorry for that, I hate getting involved in this type of stuff, it takes away from the kids that have earned big wins last week and have a big game this week. Just my opinion. I agree with you 100% Bob. If you want the Richlands fan site, there is one. This is not a Richlands fan site. Bluefield has the most posters, they just seem to have hidden this year. You are getting as fair a shake as one can get. Some fan bases have more fans and that's just a fact of life. Richlands and Marion fans picked the Tornado to win and a few VHS fans too offense to it(mainly to the comments by Canes00) Thats what I see, maybe I need to re-read it. If you have a problem with a poster then keep your comments directed to him and not to Richlands or Marion in general. (not specifically directed at you jblank). Truth is Jethro(VHS) and Canes00(MHS) like to make inflamatory comments, to get people riled up and see what happens. Some people just want to watch the world burn(a little Batman for you guys) I had a nice long response but I deleated it, its not important. whats above is what matters. After re-reading the thread Jethro and Canes00 made a couple of comments, whitch were responded to by fans from both Marion and Virginia who took offense and protected their communities. Dont let 2 blowhards ruin what was a solid conversation about what is sure to be a GREAT game. and this isint a Richlands fan site, the 2 guys who run it are from Graham and Grundy. Although alot of the regular posters are from Richlands(imo because as this site took off so did Richlands football). There are people from all over SWVA on here, although most of the top posters are from Richlands. Haysi, Hurley, Twin Valley, Honaker, Clintwood, Central, Union, Giles, Galax, Battle, Virginia, Marion, Holston, and the list goes on are repsented.
