Question For A Sports History Fan

Some area schools are blessed to succeed on a yearly basis or to at least be competitive while other schools might struggle to have a successful team once every five years on average. I've got a question for those who enjoy digging into high school football history. My question is which SWVA Class 1D and Class 2D school beginning with the 2024 season has gone the longest without beating an opponent with a .500 or better record? Several people can probably find the answer in no time while I myself develop brain fog when digging into a lot of stats. Thanks and Merry Christmas to everyone on this great sports board!

2D-My initial thought, it's probably Marion😆.  However, I think it might be Richlands, who beat Gate City in 2022 Week 1.

 

1D-There's a decent chance it's Northwood, but I'm not sure.

Been awhile since Twin Valley was competitive in 1D, same with Battle in 2D.

I thought of both of them, too. Battle beat Holston in '22, and Twin Valley beat Honaker in '21.

You wouldn't happen to know Donny Jenkins from Big Stone Gap, would you? He's been doing SWVA (mostly Wise Co) football research for decades. I don't know if he posts or lurks here, but I'm sure some of the Union people here know him.

I have his book. Unfortunately there are errors in it.
