  5. 7-10 good refs? Heck I dont think I have seen that many good refs in the state in basketball!

  6. Countless officials will not officiate Central games due to the problems that have occurred. If they play in a “big game”, anyone who follows Central basketball can guess who will officiate. There are only about 7-10 good refs who will officiate the boys team. This isn’t some big secret.

  7. Schools cannot request officials (if that were happening changes need to be made for commissioner if they were honoring that). Schools can blackball officials from working their home games. Unless a change has taken place in the constitution I dont believe it was written to extend beyond home due to tournaments and officials working multiple associations for instance. Officials can also list any conflicts of interests and etc at the beginning of a season as well. What I do not like is officials who will turn in games based on schools playing assigned game or travel. If you cannot list a reason to not officiate a certain school beforehand do not turn them in later, even if you are assigned with another official who may not like working with. It creates a major pain in the butt for the commissioner, and is disrespectful IMO. Its also a slap in the face of the commissioner and people working the game if a school wants officials dropped after they have already been assigned, when they didnt blackball them before the season started, or without a prior issue with said official earlier in the season. Respect is easier lost than gained, and that is a great example why on both sides of the coin.

    Any Info on All State?

Devon Johnson was snubbed from winning both. He was a better LB in high school than he was a RB, yet he won OPoY and not DPoY. Should have won both, imo.

  10. Names that come to mind but I'm not sure are Div 3 back then...Vic Hall- Gretna 2004 and Anthony Poindexter-Jefferson Forrest 1993. Some near misses but I'm certain were not POY on both sides were Radfords Touchdown Tommy Edwards in 1991, Bryan Randall-VT of Bruton High in 2000 and Percy Ellsworth of Southampton in both 1990 and 1991. Poindexter, Ellsworth, and Randall were all on at least 1 All-American team and all played AA Div 3, equal to 3A now. Southampton may have been Div 4, AA, during Ellsworths senior year.
