  1. Appreciate the faith in the G-Men RiverRat24. I believe the same, after doing some investigating on Mason they look like a good team but I honestly don't think the teams on the East play the caliber of opponents as we do on the West... I could be wrong just my opinion. I'm looking forward to making the trip to Fairfax to watch my G-Men play.. I also wish Gate City the best of luck as well, would like to see SWVA represented with 2 teams in the final four next weekend in Richmond...
  2. It was the first game Graham has played in 3weeks not going to lie they looked rusty at times.. They will be alright once everything gets back in the swing of things. Go G-Gmen!
  3. Coach Carlock does an excellent job with these guys, they are looking good going into Christmas break.
  4. Pretty remarkable what the offense has done especially going up against strong competition. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe Graham played 4 teams this year that finished the season 9-1 (BlFD, Richlands', Abingdon, Giles). What stands out even more there was only one game this season in which they weren't in "Richlands". Back to the topic, I'm glad to see Graham putting up points and beating teams the way they are suppose to. Averaging 55 points in the MED is what they are supposed to do year in and year out, I'm glad to see that finally happening now that Palmer is there. As for the 411 points that is credited to good coaching and having playmakers with speed. Palmer and the coaching staff have done an excellent job in putting players in the correct spots/positions to make plays. My brother is a senior on this years team, I asked him before the season started where did he see this team? what were his goals? Of course he stated win a State title and all the things you expect every kid to say. But he said one thing that sticks out to me, he stated I want to be part of the Senior class that brings Graham High School & Bluefield Virginia back to relevance. I believe they have done that, I'm very proud of this team and hopefully they continue this season with a big showing this upcoming Friday at James River.
  5. Workman from Graham has thrown for almost 1,000 yards and has 13 T/Ds with 2 ints. Has rushed for 400 yards with 5 rushing T/Ds and 1 fumble. 18 Touchdowns with only 3 turnovers pretty good numbers in my opinion.
  6. UVAobserver- My post was definitely not directed at you, in fact I often agree with a lot of things you say on here... I'm just stressing the fact that Graham has improved and yes the record doesn't lie we are 2-5, but if we could win these next 3 and finish 5-5 Graham can be a scary playoff team. I was a senior on the 2005 team and I believe that was the last team to win 9 games, so trust me I understand what comes with wearing the garnet and gold. Lets hope we can rebound and start a little winning streak of our own this Friday.
  7. Here is my opinion: I don't consider this years Graham team to be necessarily weak. The schedule they have faced is nothing short of brutal it's one of the hardest I have ever seen. Lets also remember that Graham is a very small 2A team probably the or one of the smallest in the state. Yet they play the likes of Bluefield, Richlands, Abingdon etc... All teams with higher enrollment. Like I said this is just my opinion but if Graham keeps Grundy on the schedule and doesn't pick up Abingdon they are sitting at 3-4 right now. I feel as if Graham has been overlooked or whatever you want to call it because of the 2-5 record. Honestly they have been in or had a chance to win every game this season except for Richlands, I will also add that I believe Richlands will compete for a state championship. Lets take a step back and look at the improvement that have been made in just one short year. 2014 Bluefield-76 / Graham-48 2015 Bluefield-28 / Graham-21 2014 Tazewell-45 / Graham-21 2015 Tazewell-14 / Graham-42 2014 Grayson-38 / Graham-27 2015 Grayson-14 / Graham-59 2014 Galax-50 / Graham-13 2015 Galax-41 / Graham- 33 These were just a few examples I could think of right off hand, not to mention scoring 47 on undefeated 3-A Abingdon and losing by 10. My point is, Graham has lost and they are 2-5 but they have lost to quality opponents. I'm not one for having sympathy on a loss but at least they aren't getting blown out and have been in almost every game, improvements have been made. As for Bland what a story, I have nothing but respect for the men across the tunnel and what a coaching job by Heart, nothing short of amazing. I just hope Graham comes in focused and takes this team seriously because they will be ready to play. Also while I'm on my rant here if you are a Graham fan and get on here or go out in public and down this team/coaching staff them shame on you. They aren't the 1989 team we all know that but have some pride about your home town team. One of my biggest honors is when someone asks me where I'm from and did I play football? I love replying back with yes I did under "Glynn Carlock" at Graham High School. Sorry for the sappy rant just tired of all the negativity but truth be known the people that say stuff never played ball and don't know what its like to play under the lights.
  8. I believe in this case the kids actions shouldn't have resulted in getting thrown out.. jusy my opinion though
  9. My G-Men looked good tonight! But that was such a garbage call on throwing the kid out for clapping, I'm still trying to figure that one out...
  10. As for tonight's game I would like to see a hard fought high school football game that is injury free! Good luck to Tony Palmer and the rest of the G-Men.
  11. Tazewel came out before the game and planted a bulldog flag at midfield and started jumping around! And ppl are going to talk abt Graham players? Moving forward I feel sorry for the kids at Tazewel having to play for Williams/Dudley! These two didn't even shake the coaches hands after the game, they walked to the locker room, you wanna talk about classless.
  12. Graham/Beaver hands down the best game to be at this Friday night.
  13. Nobody giving my G-Men a chance, I might be wrong but I see it being a good game and the VA side going home happy. Graham looked good against Glenvar/Gretna hopefully they carry that momentum with them Friday night.
