The lag concerns me and the fact that Dan River is senior loaded and has playoff experience is a worry, but watching them on film, they aren't anything complex on offense. I also think that having the open week last week and going up to scout them in person really helped. If we play clean and eliminate turnovers, we have a very good shot at winning

If the best two teams are on the opposite side of the state, they will still meet in the state finals...

I just wanted to wish all of the local teams good luck in the playoffs. It sucks that we're not there this year, but that doesn't mean we can't pull for others. Hopefully I'll make it to Buckingham-Richlands next week as long as both teams take care of business this coming week. Safe travels and hit'em in the mouth!

Started off with a win over *cough* Powell Valley and went into the playoffs ranked #8 in the AP Poll

James River only played 4 teams with a winning record. Won 2 lost 2. One of the wins was against a Parry McCluer team that only had 1 win against a team with a winning record, and then lost their final game to a 3-7 Bath Co. team.
 
Graham, on the other hand, only played 2 teams with a LOSING record while also playing 4 teams that finished 9-1. Based on regular season competition, Graham is clearly the better prepared team going in. Has the makings of a good game.

No regular season rematches for the first round. I like it! Really looking forward to seeing Gretna next week.

Yes. Buckingham created a beatgatecity account (which is still up), and Gate City created a beatbuckingham account. It went back and forth between those accounts, students' accounts at both schools, and even some adults started getting in on the action. Some was funny, some was mean, some was just flat out nasty. Student to student was probably the worst.

These teams are very similar and Nottaway is the home team I believe. We will know around 10pm tonight how all the games turn out! Thanks again for the great job you do with all the numbers!

You could very well be right. I know nothing about either team. Just went by their info on VHSL-Reference and his game simulator that gives them a 91% chance of winning.

I want to say a Big Thanks to Union Fan for all he has shared to enlighten us!! This stuff gets very complicated at times! And Red Tiger is right. Ridgeview needs to take care of business or just end the season.

Ridgeview loss along with a Va High and Randolph-Henry win would see Ridgeview fall into a tie with GC for 17. If Gretna were to lose(which MOST likely isn't going to happen), in this scenario then Ridgeview could find itself tied with GC and Randolph-Henry for 16. I'm not sure who would win that tie breaker.
 
Since Ridgeview can still get in with a Va High win I guess it comes down to a Randolph-Henry win to fully eliminate them. And Randolph-Henry will be favored to win their game, so Ridgeview really needs to take care of business.
