Miss? I wouldn't say I miss sports. I miss the distraction I guess of being able to kill a few hours and enjoy some time to block out the real world and immerse myself in enjoying watching a sport.
I have, over the past few weeks, pondered the question about pro athletes, the outrageous salaries , their social influence on the youth, and where things might go moving forward in the future. I guess what this has shown is that sports and pro athletes aren't as essential to daily life as one may have thought 6 months or 3 years ago.
I would guess that Thad may have already been contacted or is aware of the opening. Coach Wells will have to do what is best for himself and his family. I know he would be welcomed back to the area by more than just the Richlands faithful.
Step 1 for Buchanan Schools - Pass a resolution to never hire Haydee Robinson. Step 2, Look at everything Dickenson County did with how they handled their money and do the EXACT opposite. You will probably be O.K. On a serious note, Council Doesn't field a team and Twin Valley is historically not very strong. Hurley despises Grundy, I doubt most football players will go there. Which means Grundy basically stands alone vs 3A competition and gets absolutely destroyed anytime they play at that level. I hope not, but that's the way I see it shaking out for a few years anyway.
Trust me, if Powell Valley and Appalachia communities can merge Hurley and Grundy kids will be just fine.
Scrimmages ok, but not a fan of the benefit game at all.
Or no scrimmages and only a benefit game. Wouldn't 7 on 7's cover your scrimmage needs. Except of course your OL and DL. I believe they have what amounts to a 7on7 style camps for OL/DL.
How and why should it be different for a FB Live broadcast than it is for any other media outlet?
I would guess FB Live is not "For Profit" like TV stations are. Those who share FB Live stuff aren't selling advertising and it generally individual with no media passes or credentials to events is my guess
2-0? I'd like to hear the story of that game. Defensive battle.
If I remember correctly the weather was brutal and a major contributing factor. That being said it was certainly a defensive battle and back and forth.
Let's get this party started. The Wolfpack are undefeated at 5-0. The Bears are coming off a loss to a good Paintsville team in which discipline apparently played a huge factor in the outcome. The game is being televised by the CW in the Tri-Cities. The stage is set, the Friday night lights will be bright, the Park will be rocking. Is it Friday yet? 🙂
Ole PJ and his trusty sidekick Casey sure do like going to Bullitt Park it seems like.
Taxes need to be raised plain and simple. It’s past time we pay teachers appropriately and redistribute wealth by providing more opportunities for our students!
So let me see if I understand this?:
We should raise taxes on the elderly (Who many live on fixed incomes) and those who are on assistance to begin with
People who don't have any ties to school systems (Graduated out, no children, and the single individuals)
People in communities with a declining population
Many communities who are in a decline because of the economic strain from the past 20 years and are still struggling to stay afloat economically
This, so we can say you can now afford to travel 6 hours across the state to watch a 3 hour sporting event
