As bad as Tech is recruiting right now they should be in every living room in Southwest Virginia begging kids to come. They need bodies and I would rather those bodies be Southwest Virginia kids....but ASU has a beautiful campus in so many different ways!

Yep..Tennessee High is average at best with not too many athletes. Bluefield has elite talent and one thing Tennessee High hasn't seen in years speed!

It just could end up like NCAA schools used to claim those "mythical" national titles, as long as a school was number 1 in any one of the three polls, you were a national champion! It also worked for Dobyns Bennett they claim a bunch of those state titles.

It's happening all across the nation, these top tier guys aren't going to risk it! I don't blame them. This is really going to affect the multiple sport athletes.

DB has 52 head coaches and South has about 20 just in my buildings!

I think if any school is looking for any kind of coach in any sport they need to come to Eastman in Kingsport because there are probably around 2000 of the 8000 that work here that believe they can coach any sport and they would do it for free because they already have a day job!

Gate City's numbers will depend on what the school board does with the Tennessee kids, if they boot them out GC will be borderline 1A, if the numbers go crazy because of the Sullivan County consolidations they could wind up 3A...when it comes to consolidation in Scott County it's all about geography 539 square miles of backroads and hills and hollers good luck with that!

If there is a positive to all this, it would be that the TSSAA does a fall football season and the VHSL does the spring and I get to watch like 27 weeks of football in a row!

I can tell you with much authority that Gate City has turned down multiple transfers just in the last five years! People are going to hate you for being successful, I was in sales for 19 years and won every sales award my company (companies) ever had and people just hate you for success. When Gate City was Single A, they were Single A attendance wise. There was no fudging the numbers! It sounds like Gate City pissed in Stan's Cheerios. But just for Stan the number of the day is 28!

And with all the talent they have coming, it's not going to end anytime soon.

When the season started Wise Central was going to be the "Kings of the Mountain 7" but a funny thing happened on the way to dominance, it's called playing the games. In games you get calls for you or against you, if you are playing a good team they will get calls. Should it have been a foul, I don't know because I wasn't there. But it wasn't according to the three official standing there and I will defer to them because I am just a poster on a message board offering an opinion, just like the rest of you! It wasn't the ref's fault maybe just good old fashion Karma!

Bad calls happen every game, but in basketball the good players get the calls (Jordan, Kobe, Lebron, Steph). Just don't pretend it doesn't happen, because it does. I do agree that the officiating isn't good and steadily declining, especially in football. No offense to Stripes or any other official on this board. Bad calls just happen!
