I think the shot clock should be implemented nation wide as well. 
 
New York along with a few states already have it and it seems to work well.

The kid is pretty good. I've seen him, but not even close to Calvin Talford. Not even close.
The thing that hurts him is his attitude. Very cocky and arrogant. I didn't get to catch any of the Arby's Classic this year. Although, I spoke to one of the Arby's Classic organizers, a friend of mine, and he said that out of his 20 plus years being involved with the Arby's, McClung is the one kid that he was most disgusted with. He has talent, but he really couldn't stand to watch him in the Arby's because of the attitude. Some may not mind it, but personally I believe he needs to work on that and he will be fine. CT was a much more humble player and had great character on the court.

Just got home from the Madison County/ RE Lee game.  Me and a group of East Rock folks made the trip.  Glad we did.  Lee has incredible size and talent.  However, they are the most undisciplined, poorly coached team I have seen in a while.  Go at them hard and they wilt.  Madison plays hard on both ends of the court but there is no way they should have been able to overcome the size and athleticism of Lee...except they did.  Lee jumped out to a 16-3 lead and acted like the game was over.  Madison took their best shot and just kept coming at Lee.  Late in the game, with the results in the balance, Lee's big men were more interested in making obscene gestures to the very large Madison crowd than they were on playing defense.
 
I think GC has more ability/athleticism than Madison.  They should be able to irritate and aggravate Lee into making stupid plays/actions.  Lee's coach is a jackass who was applauding one of his players for yelling, 3 times no less, "F#$% You" to the crowd.  Then when they lost, Lee players and coaches left the floor and basically refused to come out to accept the runner up trophy.  Finally, one of the assistants and a bench player came out, took their trophy, flipped off the crowd and left.  I have no respect for the staff at all. ER lost 2 times to Lee and they (Lee) acted even worse when they won! 
 
As a Bearcat, I find this hard to say...I hope Gate City beats the crap out of Lee.    Go get 'em Blue Devils.  Here's hoping the Leemen's season end on a 2 game loosing streak!

GC and Richlands play tonight and two more games afterwards no matter what. Either team could lose tonight and Saturday and still win the state title. It's the game next Friday that's win or go home. The games played tonight and Saturday are to determine seeding for the state quarters

I was working some USSSA games with my cousin in Charlotte several years ago.  This particular game happened to be my rotation off so I was enjoying some shade, water and a hot dog.  My cousin was behind the plate.  Delino DeShields was coaching the team in the field and his sons were on the team.  His pitcher bounced a ball to the plate and Corey Seager hit it 400 feet over the scoreboard in right-center field.  Damnedest thing I ever saw!
 
DeShields immediately began arguing with my cousin that a pitched ball that bounces cannot be hit into fair territory legally.  I guess he thought everyone was supposed to be "star struck".  He kept screaming "do you know who I am".  He would eventually use some colorful language and not get to see the remaining 4 innings of the game.  A shame really, Seager put on a freakin show.

Or maybe it's the travel ball games the same kids play. 8 games in two days with 10 players. No way to govern that but let's strangle the ones we can. Travel ball is killing arms, not high school. Aseball

Overall the baseball has been dismal at best in Southwest Virginia for some time now. This will only make things worse.

I appreciate you doing this for the fans. Would help more if I knew more

Seems like a lot of Coaching Staffs are just to sorry to post scores.

Thanks.  The BHC has made it a little more difficult to look up a score from them, and I'm not about to pay just to find a simple score.  So now it's even harder to do this.  This is why I wasn't going to attempt it this year, gives me a freaking headache this time of year, haha.

Jeter always came off like a decent dude and he is one of the better officials in the area, so that surprises me. If it was another ref, I'd be more inclined to believe it lol.

Hopefully GC fairs better than the other local schools that have played so far.

Very few are coming to watch all the games and then pay out the ying yang for a bottle of water and a dog. Its to much , especially when you have to pay for a family of three or four and times that by three days and it equals to much.

I mean bald point at the 2 bucks a game. But how many people are coming for all 18 games? I'd wager less than 5% you'll get better attendance for the semi finals And 1st/3rd place games. The other games will be comprised of people who "have" to be there. Maybe a few just come for the hell of it.
 
I know y'all want to make money and such just giving my opinion for a better draw. Imagine. Bringing a family of 5 for one game. That's 50 bucks and not even including concession. People aren't gonna spend it is all. Maybe that will. Hope I'm wrong!

Well I will be the first to tell you that $10 for entry is a bit high. The Arby's is 10 bucks and this is not the same tournament. Just my opinion... you could have charged 6 or maybe even 7 but that's pushing it. Just my only beef with the tournament man. Everything else is great!
 
It is a solid tournament though. UVAW is the nicest facility in SWVA by far. They really do it right up there.

Since this will be Happy Valley's 4th game in 4 days as well, both are equally as "tired"...

BS...these kids are used to running hoops games all day, they aren't tired from playing three games in four days.

Logged on to today  to check to see if Larry wanted to take my bet based upon "his rankings."  I was hoping I would get a counter offer. Maybe something like having to wash his jeep or something.  Instead he decided to suggest i was ignorant.  OK. I must be..  Because I fail to see the genius in ranking a team he thinks is better behind team or teams he thinks is not as good.  Sorry for my ignorant post Larry.

Gotta be the one in Wise this year. Some quality teams in that one. Mt. Mission, George Wythe, Richlands, Bell Co., KY, Ridgeview, Honaker, Eastside, Lebanon, Union, Central, Castlewood, and Burton.
