CriticalNoise reacted to Old Round Ball in Lee High Generals
Lee High has gotten their reputation honestly since it's start! Who in their right mind that is any good at to their game would want to coach at Lee? With the average life span of two years as a football coach and not much more in any sport except maybe baseball (whose coaches can't win any games either but somehow keeps his job, they do not seem to care) the only ones that will take the job are losers or new hopefuls. How many athletes attend other schools to get away from that stigma? Politics? You got rid of a coach that took the football team to the playoffs two years in a row for one that destroyed the program in three years because of his connections to board members. Don't get on here and defend the garbage! Lee High gets the negativity it deserves! If I lived in Lee County I would leave too!

CriticalNoise reacted to Gridiron60 in Ridgeview vs. Wise Central Part 2
I think it depends on if Central finds a way to contain Adkins. He’s obviously Ridgeview’s biggest weapon. Does Ridgeview have any other substantial weapons if Adkins gets locked down? If Central can hand a team like Richlands a loss, I feel like they could surprise any other team still left. I’m no expert but I say it will be a close one.

I was not part of the direct communication, and if I'm wrong they can correct me.
It is my understanding that Richlands' AD requested that it be blown less and that request was honored, but silenced, no, not silenced.

Y’all prepare yourselves for that train horn to never be stopped. After they threatened to escort Union fans out of Mitchell for little air horns — I cant even imagine how loud and often they’ll blow the train horn Friday night.

I wish we had 4 more of him on the field exactly the same. The kids motor never stops

Graham will need a crowd that will make some noise. Church mice are louder than them.

And Mason Polier single handily won that football game tonight. He completely took over in the second half and late in the fourth quarter. He wasn't going to let Union lose tonight. 43 will hopefully be never worn again once he's done with it.

He went back out and showed heart. For a freshman he's tough as nails and made a difference the second half with the ground and pound up the middle run game.

Just wanted to say congratulations to Union on a great win and I am proud of the Wolfpack for not giving up and fighting back to make it a close game.

Regardless, Adkins wasn't the team leader as a freshmen and he's not been in the situation in which he is the team leader, has the team on his shoulders in some respects, has unchallenged games to start the year, and then boom, he meets Union. There are many a kids who would act out some in frustration. I betcha the reaction is different next time. By the way, his reaction wasn't that outlandish. He didn't sling his helmet or getting into a vicious shouting match with teammates or coaches, at least from what we could see. He did throw his hands up, he was visibly frustrated, and that wreaks of immaturity and frustration from an incredible amount of pressure on this kids shoulders. He will be fine. He's a good kid.

I agree with you. I'm not condoning his behavior. I'm just saying he's young and this is the first time he really has been the team leader. Sexton was the leader during Adkins freshman and sophomore years. The things you described are reasons why he acted this way. First real game when he's been the leader after not being challenged for the first five games, and then he's hit in the mouth and gets the wood laid to him, and he acts out. It's wrong. I don't condone it. But, lets give him a chance to see how he reacts from this experience in the future. I think it will be very different.

That's what I'm saying, I think some of the Union fans on here aren't giving their team enough credit. I guess some are Union fans and some are not, but Good Lord man, Union's defense is stout. It's pretty bad as# for a 2A Virginia Defense and getting 119 not just against Union, but with an offense in which is run oriented, and one in which Union knows is going to Run the Ball makes it even more impressive. I'm surprised he wasn't a bit hurt by the third quarter. That kid showed me some incredible toughness. He was getting popped not just by one player, but by multiple players, and again, on a nasty and vicious defense that brings the wood every play. I was more than impressed with Adkins.
One last thing and let me be careful here because I want to make sure that "I let the coaches coach." In one fans take only, just an opinion, not trying to be the coach, just an observation, not a parent, not angry or anything like that, but just a thought........a few more screens if you are Ridgeview in the form of bubble screens, hitches? Especially with the crazy good WR they have that touches the ball about 5 times per 4 quarters? Just sayin........I wasn't impressed with Ridgeview's play selection, but with that written, if you are used to running, running, and running and don't throw many screens, it's hard to turn into a screen football offense in one night, so I get it. But from here on out, the Ridgeview staff surely has to know and understand that every team in the state of Virginia that knows anything about Ridgeview will be playing run and stacking 7 in the box, and more times than not, walking another 1 and sometimes, 2 more into the box when the ball is snapped. Brothers, you gotta insert some bubbles and hitches in your offense.

Getting pummeled and frustrated in High School? You'll never make it at the next level then where the defense is twice as good than the high school level.

Unions D. Maybe the best in the region. There may be teams with a lower points allowed average, but look at their schedule. Union has grown up considerably. Cleaned up those silly penalties this week. Seems like we’re we’re picked third in the Mountain 7 and not even in talks for the Region D title. I for one thought that as well about the region. Very impressed with how players have steeped up to fill an injury void. Now, if we win out (and we should honestly), it looks like we will our point Ridgeview for the top spot and also hold the edge to the region c winner.
I agree with the previous posts. After the M7 and SWD top two, the districts drop off considerably. Makes me miss the old LPD days when there were multiple state champions coming out of it in three different years. And three in one year if you include gate city who would come and go from the district. Good memories.
Central Warriors. Those guys seems to be plagued with the injury bug. Year in and year out. Hate that for the kids.
Devin Lester is fast fast fast as advertised. Fun to watch!
Trenton Adkins running for about 6 miles at this point in the season. Wow. But what stood out in our game with RV is the speed of qb Nick Phillips. Kids got wheels too.
As for the playoffs...
We all know the region d is going to be fun to watch. We have some really solid teams. I have no idea how we stack up to the region c this season. I’ve not watched them play. Same with teams from the a and b. Other than reading about them, no clue. But the D is going to be a wild one. There are four teams that I feel could win it and rep us well in the playoffs. Would love to see the gmen and wolfpack play each other in a round of the playoffs. . Big and fast teams.
As always, I pray for the safety of the boys on the field and the fans in their travels.

Polier and Guerrant is going to be our biggest loss. Other than that. We start a lot of sophomore and JR and some freshman come into the mix. Honeycutt and Satterfield
