How soon we forget when Richlands was accused of recruiting during their good run, especially with the Johnson's, and who knows maybe they did, but some of the stuff that was said has now come home to roost with the very ones that said it.  It's odd how the times have changed, when back then everyone wanted the head of coach Mance on a silver platter for so called recruiting, but now that the shoe is on someone else's foot, it's not that big of a deal.  Who cares if every coach is recruiting, and I suspect they all do to a certain degree.  Players cannot change schools without the parent or guardian consent, so why blame the players.  By the way, why even blame the coaches, most often the parents are contacting them.  Who doesn't want their child to be on a winning team, Duh!  As a Richlands fan, right now I wouldn't blame any player for wanting to transfer with the shape the program is in, and appears to be getting worse.  As long as Daddyball is in action, it's going to be running down hill like a fast moving freight train with no brakeman.  IMO and we all have one.

I don't think the Richlands HC is the problem.  I think what it comes down to is the feeder programs, (Little League).  A few years back, there were several teams in the program allowing many young and upcoming talented players to learn from their coaches.  Then along comes a couple of guys who want to be known as the best coaches in the area, and wreck the program.  They reduced the number of teams down to two, each having a multitude of players, and then, they only play a few, while the others get to watch from the sidelines.  They made the program about their coaching ability rather than a learning experience for the players.  Who wants their young child to go to practice everyday, do all that's expected, and never get into live action.  Back in the day, little league was all about learning the game, not acting like you are the Dallas Cowboys rather than the Richlands Cowboys.  Now we have very talented players walking the halls of our schools and never coming out to participate because they don't want to waste the time and energy to set on the bench, like they have been taught during their time in the feeder program.  Fix the feeder program, and in my opinion, you fix the problem.  Let the younger players play, no matter what level of talent, you are to teach them, not destroy their desire!  Who cares if you don't win the championship on that level, it's what you have taught these young minds that is the important thing, not the fact that you are the winningest coach that ever came along.  Who cares about you? It should be all about the players on the feeder program level, not the flamboyant coach on the sideline!!!!

From the film it looks like Graham by 10 or more.  If G-men can cut down the penalties, and play position defense, they should be bringing back the trophy.  Hope all who travel to the game are safe and all players escape injury.  From a True Blue Richlands fan, I'm saying, "Come on G-men, go get that championship!!!"

Good luck to both teams, and safe journey to all the Appo fans.  Two ways of looking at this game, if it is nasty weather, G-men grinding out the win 28 to 21, if the weather is anywhere near good, Appo wins by 7. hope I'm wrong but think they have to much speed and talent.  I'm pulling for the G-men, and a nasty weather day, but Appo is a tough out.  May all the players escape without injury.

Yes and Mr. James C. Ramey was a huge part of the Tazewell and Richlands Community.  He was greatly respected.  How many rivalries across the country have trophies associated with them? Too many to count.  You want to call this game the "BackYard Brawl" and associate some meaning to it, there should be a trophy......good grief, people just need to get over it and don't worry about what other teams do.  Richlands gets this trophy when they win too, yet nobody gives them a hard time over it.  If you don't like it, at least quit being Karens about it.

Both bands will be wearing pink tonight.   The theme is "Rivals on the field, Teammates against Cancer".  Both of these schools have been hit hard with cancer the past several years.  Tazewell has lost more then its share of students to this horrible disease.  I am proud of the kids from both schools taking a stand against cancer.  We may be rivals on the field, but we are all human and we all have struggles with our lives.  I'm glad to see the schools coming together, honestly both of these schools do a great job of coming together over difficult issues.  All of these kids are winners if you ask me.  Good luck to both teams.

Tazewell should win, but don't think its a blow out.  Tazewell always seems to find a way to loose at the Ernie for whatever reason.  Hope all the players have an enjury free game, and both teams and fans show good sportsmanship. Go BLUES!!!

Things have changed regarding refs in general but Richlands use to be known for home cooking with the refs years ago or at least that was the general thought.  Seems like around 2008 that kind of changed.  But with that thought in mind I can see where people might say that.

06 was good, 05 was better statistically. 05 started the season with 5 straight shutouts and the starting D gave up 1 touchdown in the regular season to Carroll County in game 9. I’ll never forget Tazewell fans acting like they won the Super Bowl when they kicked a FG on us to be the first points scored on Richlands that season.

Richlands is a hot mess right now with a group calling for McGee, Vencil, & Tarter to go. Seems like a select core group stirring the pot & getting others in an uproar to take up the cross with them so to speak. Kid wasn’t playing the entire game anymore & coaches trying some different stuff. Mommy got mad (egged on by some former coaches , hearsay) & kid quit and possibly transferring to Lebanon. I’m not sure why anyone would want to coach in that end of the county these days with all that drama. Tarter is a much better person & dedicated person to tough it out for those boys than most would be.

I will try not to be negative.  That's why I have waited so long to post on this game.  One word describes my thoughts, UNPREPARED!!!  Union was good but not the best Union team I have seen, however they were PREPARED.  Richlands has some good talent, but I'll give you a good run down.  Opening kick off penalty(are you kidding) special teams UNPREPARED!!, Defense--wondering around lost and bewildered, out of position all night long--UNPREPARED!! Offence--gained less than 100yds. ( you got to be kidding) how far back in history do we have to look to see this stat on the Richlands side. UNPREPARED!!  Some say you can't put it all on the coaching, (are you kidding), they are totally responsible for PREPARATION!!! Did they not even see the film, did they not know the offense package Union would bring to the game, did they not look at how Union's defence would attack, UNPREPARED!!!
Hats off to Union for doing a good job of preparing their players, and sticking to the game plan.  If Richlands had a game plan I did not see it.  If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, but it seemed to me the plan was watch and learn as you play, and try not to loose to badly.  This is squarely on the coaching staff because they did nothing to PREPARE their team. If half time adjustment were made, I missed them, probably "hang in there guys, do the best you can, running clock, this willl be over soon." UNPREPARED, UNPREPARED, UNPREPARED!!!!
