  1. A quick glance at Coach Smith's twitter account shows he loves his family, his players, and his Lord. Prayers for him and the entire Raider community. PO1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z3zfHN0buHM
  2. I do, in most cases, think abortion is murder. Rape was given as the reason only 1% of the time, while incest in only 0.5% of cases. There are also extremely rare instances that an abortion is necessary to save the mother's life. These are extremely difficult circumstances where I believe abortions should be allowed. Otherwise, I believe ~98% of abortions in the US are unnecessary and should not be legal. Many of the same people who lament the shootings of criminals by the police staunchly defend women's right to slaughter more than 600,000 unborn babies each year. Statistics: Guttmacher Institute
  3. If you're going to have a protest, I'd think this would be the best kind to have. "Fiery But Mostly Peaceful..."
  4. This thread took off like a Rocket.
  5. Whichever one garners the largest insurance reimbursement for the hospital?
  6. IMHO, these four should/could be in the conversation for Top 15 Scott County since 1990. Rye Cove: Adam Hood Gate City: Jessee McMurray Twin Springs: Landon Bays, Chad Ervin
  7. I think we should have a Top-5 of Twin Springs' Foreign Exchange Students.
  8. We shouldn't just focus on the negatives. I remember the Richlands' community graciously opening their doors for a family from Big Creek, WV after their high school closed.
  9. That's Gold, @RichlandsAlum! GOLD! Strong Candidate for P.O.T.Y.
  10. I hope Isaiah Johnson knows the reason he's playing the game.
  11. Thanks for sharing, @trublue. With so many dissatisfied and entitled young adults in the news, this story was a refreshing change. I appreciated how Aka and his family chose to immigrate to the U.S. and their obvious love for America. Aka's work ethic and willingness to overcome adversity will serve him well as an Army officer. We're blessed to have him serve our nation.
  12. I now know a person who died of COVID 19...or do I? He was in early 80s and had survived multiple battles with cancer. He fell at home injuring his head and was taken to the hospital where he suffered another fall. He was admitted and tested positive for COVID 19 and later passed away. He had not been suffering symptoms of COVID 19 prior to his fall at home. So, his death won't be because of advanced age, natural causes, long-term effects of cancer, or organ failure as a result of the consecutive falls. In the eyes of health officials, he died of COVID 19. Ballad Health will receive a 20% Medicare premium and his death will be counted with the other 148,000+ in the U.S..
  13. I'm so excited for MLB and the Nats to begin play I won't even complain about A-Rod and ESPN.
  14. Straight up honest...it took me about 30 seconds to get it. I'm not the sharpest HOAX in the shed.
  15. When you're talking about voracious eaters in the animal kingdom, I'm coming at you every time with the Tazmanian Devil. We're talking about swallowing 40% of its body weight in just 30 minutes. I used it as a daily goal while on vacation.
  16. Thanks for sharing, @Gridiron60. But please be careful with the secret. Many on the left believe conservatives only watch Fox News, and they're certainly convinced that we'd never actually read to gain knowledge.
  17. I'd like to see a high school renamed after 40. It could be the Ronald Reagan "Capitalist Cowboys" Instead of a shooting a cannon, they could launch a cruise missile as the team ran onto the field.
  18. Transfer to Wake Forest and don't leave without the degree. Play two years in the best conference in the country. Enter the draft and and hope for the best. If it doesn't happen, you can always play pro ball in Europe. When age or injury says it's over, you walk away with a college education and no regrets.
  19. I agree. It almost has to be Wake Forest. Below is a very rudimentary summary on the PG status at the other six schools. Auburn has a 5* PG Shariffe Cooper coming in next year (the highest recruit in school history) Arkansas signed 4* PG KK Robinson from Oak Hill BYU only makes sense if MM has to sit-out a year to replace leading scorer Alex Barcello TT has significant depth at guard USC seems to have stability at the position with no obvious opening Memphis had issues at PG this past season but seemed to have shored them up in the second half with Alex Lomax
  20. Mark Giannotto @mgiannotto Spoke to someone involved in Mac McClung’s recruitment. Key for school that ultimately gets him is he wants to play more at PG based on NBA feedback & he’s only planning to be in college one more year. Interest in Memphis is real. Penny is point man just like w/ DeAndre Williams. 7:55 PM · May 20, 2020
  21. I loved the team's nickname "Crusaderettes". No way a public school today would be approved to use a feminine version of a name for Christian soldiers.
  22. I agree. The Narrows players would be in their mid-80s by then. No way they catch Caleb Jennings.
  23. Not only did PV-Appy '97 give us one of the best games in SWVA history, it also gave us "The Running Man"
  24. @Bluefield researcher I know you don't do your work for fame or attention, but I'm glad Mr. Askeland recognized you in his article. Congratulations, Sir!
  25. @Ryan4VT @BigWinners Okay, since Mike Gundy's name was mentioned, I want to share a mildly interesting experience. To begin, I'm an old guy. In fact, I'm old enough to be a man who watched Mike Gundy play when he wasn't quite yet a man. I was stationed in the Air Force near Oklahoma City. The local high school had a 16 y.o. phenom junior QB who was a must-see. He also had a younger brother, Cale, that I watched as well before he went to OU. Tidbits: Midwest City HS was the Bombers, named after the B-52s that were on base. Both Mike and Cale won state titles playing QB ; I saw the Gundy dad one-day driving his pick-up in town when both boys were in college. His personalized plate read: OSU-12-OU. I also got to watch Midwest City's national champ wrestling team from '90 and '91. Oklahoma sports wasn't Texas-level, but I felt fortunate to live in a town with successful 6A programs. Anyway, the Bombers became my adopted team during my eight-year exile from SWVA.
