A couple things blatantly obvious this first half. CCC is a stud which we all knew. Clark is special, special. And these announcers are so RH biased it’s horrid

19-14 Radford.  RH is getting picked apart on defense but Radford can’t stop CCC

Reading the game preview on VAPreps. Not a single mention of AJ Ashworth. I hope Essex ignores him too!!!

A few things of note concerning the North Carolina State Championship games.
Reidsville is attempting to win state championship number 23 in 30 title game appearances.  Tarboro is appearing in the state championship game for the 7th consecutive season. The Clinton DarkHorses have a cool ass nickname. 

Riverheads has mastered finding the opponents weakness and exploiting it. Adjust to what Riverheads is doing, they make a slight adjustment and take right off again. Relying on Riverheads to make mistakes is a fools errand. It's not going to happen. Too well coached and far too disciplined. CCC will be the best player on the field, in my opinion. Yes, that includes Clark. Just look at what CCC did to Kam Robinson from Essex last year. Robinson is now a 1st Team Freshman All-American at UVA. 

Giles will continue its 7th year of rebuilding next season. 

Grayson Super thinks he is a Sports Agent/Coach/AD rolled into one.......he will be in search of.

Galax will need to be super disciplined and play error free football Sat.  This is not a great Essex team but they have a number of defenders who can tackle #9 and & #7 for Galax which is something Region C/D teams have struggled with.  That being said I really like how Galax is playing right now and feel they are confident in what they do.  #7 has been dominate the past several weeks on both sides.

I'm right there with you as I'm very happy to have been wrong about this young team. Next year's team will have two huge holes to fill with trying to replace Ashworth and Tucker.

You and I were both wrong about this year's team, I did say they might surprise some people if they could get their young line straightened out but I never thought they would make this far. Shane Allen deserves a lot of props for the job he had done with this team this season.

I’m happy to be wrong. With only 4 seniors starting, it’s looking pretty good going forward. Shane deserves a lot of credit. If for no other reason than just keeping the kids pulling in the same direction after that 1-3 start to the season. He could have easily lost the team after that start. 

Riverheads offense is really hard to defend  for 4 quarters, they start making small blocking adjustments and the other team seems to get frustrated and starts having kids being out of place and then they break one. People always talk about their offense but the defense is usually on point as well and rarely gets the credit it deserves. They will have their hands full trying to defend Radford but I'd say the coaches will have a good game plan and I wouldn't be surprised if they don't have another ring after Saturday.

Having to have watched Galax play Riverheads  for the past 7 years I cannot explain just how Freaking maddening it is to defend  that offense. You stop it and they make a slight blocking adjustment and bust a long run. To beat Riverheads you have to be able to run against them. So Radford will have to mix it up and be successful when they have the ball, as they won’t get it often. 

How many times over the past 8 seasons have we said ‘Riverheads run ends here. They can’t match up with…..”?
Every single time, Riverheads does more than match up. They win more often than not. Lord Botetourt, Christiansburg, Stuart’s Draft, Central Woodstock, Poquoson, Glenvar……
At what point do we give them the credit they deserve and stop projecting with wishful thinking?
Bold take maybe but I don’t believe this game will be very close. Riverheads by more than two TD’s. 

Riverheads offensive scheme is tough on LB's and as good as Radford's LB's are, it's tough the way RH blocks.  They pull quiet a bit, but mix it up with some straight zone blocking (big on big)  LB's have to make a quick decision and commit to it and hope they're right.  OL for RH is fun to watch, good feet, quick, big, and don't miss many blocks.  They're perfectly content with 4 yards a carry while making a defense respect both sides and be accountable for everyone in the backfield.  Radford will have to make several stands and hope for a couple of turnovers, otherwise RH will absolutely eat the clock and milk the game.

It’s the VHSL, that’s the reason. They are idiots and have been for many years. 

If Virginia had 8-man, Grayson would petition to play down with 11.

Couldn’t agree more. Honaker did what they had to do. Jump on Galax early. But that physicality wears on you over time if you’re not accustomed to it and prepared for it. No offense to anyone intended here but you can’t get accustomed to it and prepared for it playing Honaker’s schedule. 

Isn’t Grayson the largest A school in the state now……again!!!
