Ridgeview HAS to get one of these next two to get a 1.  Preferably Abingdon so a district title or a share of one anyway, will come with it.

Battle is down for several years to come, Ridgeview coaches have been on its team in the ways it lost the game to Union that the team will go out an execute in a big way. Having a grandson that was a player at Battle before a injury took him out for the year I will not predict a score but I think Adkins wants to redeem himself an gains over 250 yards.

So I'm just wondering how throwing you hands up and getting frustrated because you've been getting blown up in the backfield up like makes you a bad person or something???? If you asked someone that actually knew him they would probably tell you he is very humble and a great kid. Its football it happens every Friday night any where you go you will see someone showing frustration. What about how #44 for Union acts out there on the field at times??? 

Just wanted to say congratulations to Union on a great win and I am proud of the Wolfpack for not giving up and fighting back to make it a close game.

Just saying he didn't show no disrespect towards other people also him and my son took pictures after the game..

I didn't think that Adkins showed out towards the end of the game...If anything he might have been fired up... over getting ( game tackled by 3or4 players at a time, that happened alot)...just my 2 cents..

Play calling is RV’s Achilles heel. Many in the staff could get the ball to their athletes in space. The ones that matter Have no interest in that kind of silliness. 

I hope he is great at next level i always root for the area kids since we don't have many that get a chance.

Yea, you will.  All players get frustrated and all players at some point get pummeled in a game where they are outmatched and physically whipped.  The good ones bounce back, the talent takes over, and they do fine.  The same will happen with Adkins.  He will do fine and he will be playing at the Power 5 level.  He's that good.  He will also learn from the experience.  By the way, where the Defense is twice as good at the college level (far better than twice as good but I get your point) so is the offense on which the kid will be playing.  The colllege offensive line will be "twice as good."  And at the college level, if he's on a team that gets physically whipped, that can happen, but if it happens like it did against Union, being able to say you had 119 yds on 23 carries is considered one heck of a game, especially when you had an approximate 75 yarder called back on the first play.  One final thing, Florida and Penn State, (two teams ranked in or near the top 10 in the nation) feel he can make it at the next level.  I kind of trust em.

Getting pummeled and frustrated in High School? You'll never make it at the next level then where the defense is twice as good than the high school level. 

I don't agree to that either.  I respect your opinion.  Polier is a beast and he's a better defensive player, but Adkins is a better offensive player by A LOT.  That's right, by A LOT.  Adkins is that good as a RB, period.  He's major.....major D1 FBS caliber as a running back and he's recruited that way for a reason.  He's legit.  I also read where one poster stated Polier had a better night than Adkins at Running Back.  I don't necessarily agree with that either.  Put Polier on the Ridgeview side and see if he gets the yards Adkins did when 5 players are hitting him as soon as he touches the ball.  What Adkins did against Union was incredible in my opinion.  He almost won the game.  He kept them in the game when they were outmatched.  Polier has a far better supporting cast around him.  When Adkins is starting on Saturdays in 2 or 3 years at an FBS school, we can revisit this thread.  The kid is a freak at running back and he isn't bad on defense either.  He's no Polier, but he isn't shabby by any means.
The above is just one guys opinion, but I'm sold on Adkins.  I had my doubts about the competition in the past.  After seeing him against Union, I'm more than sold on him. He's the real deal and more at RB.  Regarding his attitude?  Please folks.  Yes, the kid was frustrated as he was getting pummeled as soon as the ball was snapped and sure he was frustrated after having it easy for the early part of the season.  Being frustrated doesn't equal a bad attitude.  The kids wants to win and he's a competitor.  He got frustrated.  No big deal.  By everything I heard from Ridgeview fans, he's a good kid.  

That's what I'm saying,  I think some of the Union fans on here aren't giving their team enough credit.  I guess some are Union fans and some are not, but Good Lord man, Union's defense is stout.  It's pretty bad as# for a 2A Virginia Defense and getting 119 not just against Union, but with an offense in which is run oriented, and one in which Union knows is going to Run the Ball makes it even more impressive.  I'm surprised he wasn't a bit hurt by the third quarter.  That kid showed me some incredible toughness.  He was getting popped not just by one player, but by multiple players, and again, on a nasty and vicious defense that brings the wood every play.  I was more than impressed with Adkins.  
One last thing and let me be careful here because I want to make sure that "I let the coaches coach."  In one fans take only, just an opinion, not trying to be the coach, just an observation, not a parent, not angry or anything like that, but just a thought........a few more screens if you are Ridgeview in the form of bubble screens, hitches?  Especially with the crazy good WR they have that touches the ball about 5 times per 4 quarters?  Just sayin........I wasn't impressed with Ridgeview's play selection, but with that written, if you are used to running, running, and running and don't throw many screens, it's hard to turn into a screen football offense in one night, so I get it.  But from here on out, the Ridgeview staff surely has to know and understand that every team in the state of Virginia that knows anything about Ridgeview will be playing run and stacking 7 in the box, and more times than not, walking another 1 and sometimes, 2 more into the box when the ball is snapped.  Brothers, you gotta insert some bubbles and hitches in your offense.

I think Cousin from Graham is a great comparison. 

Trenton is huge fast elusive and last night under used, I was like why can’t they tackle him...then he ran out of bounds near me and I was like... I wouldn’t tackle that freight train either. He should be fed the ball over and over , he got better and to be fair he may be a better/ back but Polier doesn’t come off the field. How old is Trenton now, like 16, jeeeeez he is just now starting to grow. T Jones was 17 too when he went to UVA and got his degree in 3 years . I hope Adkins stays close to home and goes to Va Tech , UVA or UT

My two takeaways was:
1.  You just can't give a great team like Union a 26-3 lead and expect to win.  You just can't.
2.  Two second half red zone possessions, 0 points.  That's your ballgame.
After the third quarter blocked punt, why we did a jet sweep on third and long, and then went for it on fourth and long when we have a more than capable kicker and all the momentum riding our backs I will never know.  Still pisses me off.  But I'm not Mullins so what do I know?  Two plays later, Polier makes a house call from 88 yards.  Just mind blowing to me why we didn't take the points there.

Some general coaching stuff had me scratching my head (not kicking the FG late was wild), but in relation to Adkins, I thought he was off the field an awful lot. Even if you're not gonna run him, he's the best decoy around. Leave him in and sell the fake.
the RV QB and his top WR, 14, are excellent ballplayers. I love how they weren't afraid to air it out but Union made some great plays to nab some passes. But 14 is an exceptional wideout.

We know you get paid to promote this young man but it doesn't mean you know more about coaching than Rick Mullins 😂😂😂😂

I don't agree on the Adkins semi-bashing. The kid had to deal with Union in his backfield all night long and was still just a moment from taking any play to the house. He turned plays that should be a 2-3 yard loss into 7-8 yard gains and that's the sign of an elite back. His coach didn't do him many favors tonight, I thought his number should have been called way more often. I wonder if he's 100% healthy.
 
Polier was fantastic tonight, he picked up the slack big time with Lomax out and Guerrant cramping badly. All the LBs were great, Polier, Jones, Guerrant, 14, 30, etc..
I don't believe you have to try and discredit or slight Adkins to praise Polier.

Individuals on this board can speak to this way more than I can, including yourself. I'm assuming colleges look for the size in a lineman and that's it. If they have the frame I guess they feel like they can do the rest as far as strength and technique. 
If some of you guys on here with knowledge of how the "recruiting process" works and what these schools look for I would love to hear it. May be a completely separate thread so we don't hijack this thread lol
