Eastern Kentucky as several contenders for the title of Worst Football Team Ever: Jenkins, Betsy Layne, Phelps come to mind. Small schools near football powerhouses.
I have seen some terrible Central Kentucky schools who May in fact be worse.
When I was Powell Valley Middle Schooler and High Schooler, my dad umpired softball. Kevin Saunders often screamed harshly at his players and often had them crying.
If they'll leave him alone for more than 2 years they'll be fine but that's a BIG IF. Given Lee's history with coaches history would say in 2 years they will finish 5-5 and be competitive and he will be looking for another job. Hope that doesn't happen
In 1997 a 5-5 Lee made the Division 4 state semifinals and lost to Heritage by a field goal.

1. Nobody on this thread mentioned the cleats, except for you. In fact, most people I talk to from Salem about the cleats just shrug their shoulders and say “It is what it is.” I know there are whiners in Salem, but most of the griping about the cleats has come from you.

The Cumberland was absolutely dreadful for the last ~15 years before the 2011 reconfiguration. And it severely damaged the competitive balance of D1/D2 for years. 2003 was a great example. Rye Cove won the Cumberland with a 5-5 overall record, then got their doors blown off by Haysi in Round 1, while a 9-1 Honaker team that was a legitimate threat to win a championship sat at home.
The format we have now is better by far, even if Shenandoah Valley and Central VA school districts get leaks from the VHSL.
So you are blaming the school on a controversial call?
I am not blaming anyone but the referees.
The facts are that the controversial should not have been made. There was no reason to flag Burton’s QB for a celebration that never happened. Because the guy tossed the ball to the ref.
And when a team gets robbed on a controversial call, said team becomes bitter toward the team that benefits from it, believing that they got an undeserved chance to win.
The truth is I am tired of the accusers of Riverheads cheating with student numbers and should be 2A along with the other crap . My son has had enough and therefor I will fight fire with fire ! When they stop I will .

But a lot of the animosity from Region D toward Riverheads may come from about 15 years ago.

1. I have seen the Riverheads campus. It’s easy to find. It’s near the Edelweiss German Restaurant (exquisite place by the way).
2. Don’t do the short bus jokes. They’re not funny. You are giving Riverheads a bad reputation. I am certain that other Riverheads fans would feel embarrassed to see you acting like that.
3. I hope you are just some overly rambunctious fan. I would hate it if you were a player, embarrassing your teammates like that. Either way, I would not be shocked if Galax players were looking at the forum right now, taking screenshots and printing your comments to use as motivation.
Union had an incredible run in the playoffs. A play or two different in the first round and it would have been one and done. But a play or two didn’t happen in the first round and here Union was.
Some of y’all know that I am from Big Stone Gap. I live in Craig County now. I went to Powell Valley. And I follow Union. So yes, I am a Bear.
I saw pictures on social media from people back in Big Stone. Appomattox has a classy bunch. Being a good winner is as important as being a good loser.
I'd probably take 26 West to Kingsport. That turns into 23 North towards Gate City at the Virginia state line. That will take you straight to the BSG exit. All 4 lane the whole way.
I'm not totally convinced the MED was ever as bad as the current Pioneer. There were still schools within that district that played 1AA as opposed to the current format. Craig should have just played with like their 13 players and would have probably won a couple..or been competitive in a couple

Waikiki Beach in Honolulu has one place where you can cook your own steaks on a griddle. Right on the beach.
Though when when I am in Myrtle, which is not very often, I do like the Original Benjamin’s Calabash.
