I told a Graham fan on this board back after they won the state title to not be surprised if Palmer doesn't play due to his football prowess. He basically stated that it wouldn't happen. Whenever you have a Div 1 football player on your basketball team in 2026, with today's times, the overwhelming odds are that these kids are not playing Basketball after December of the year. The benefit of having a D1 offer and the risk of playing basketball and getting hurt is weighted by many kids, their parents, and their future college coach as to great to take. Some still play hoops, but many don't. I respect both viewpoints either way and it's a personal choice.

I agree. Could be a blowout or close, but I lean to a big win by SG in points margin because I know....I've beat this horse for a while. Craig Tester and his staff. It's very typical for him and his teams seem to traject at a higher pace as the season goes on compared to much of his competition because of great coaching. I'm not saying SG is Graham by any means, but we see it with Palmer over the years and Grahams great coaching. They just seem to get better and better as the season goes on, and Most HS teams in the country do get better and improve as the season goes on, but Graham's teams and the very well coached teams seem to improve at a rate or pace much higher and faster than most of the competition, and that's due to coaching.

I wrote this earlier. It may Not translate to winning in HS, but what usually Does translate is a middle school team that is losing. Almost always, a team that is losing in middle school Usually does not win much when they are in high School. Also, even though a solid and dominate middle school doesn't always translate to winning big in HS, it usually does translate to having a bottom-ceiling effect. I'm meaning, if they don't go 9 and 1, 10-0, in HS, it still usually translates to Not having major losing, for example, 6 and 4 at Worse is still usually a guarantee. So, if your Southern Gap. You are still feeling way better with your current middle school team that what you would if they were getting hammered. You know that you at the very very least, have some solid talent coming up and that's reassuring.

Injuries against GC and turnovers against Graham. I will stand by my early year pick. Assuming Union gets healthy. Union will play in Salem, VA in December this year. Now, if everybody including the waterboy continues to gets hurt, then you are in major trouble for the season and aren't going anywhere. If they do get healthy, the team that showed up and lost to Graham, will be the same team that wins the region. Just my opinion. The best Union has looked on the LOS all year was the game they lost against Graham. If their OL and DL can replicate that level of play on the LOS for the playoffs like they did against Graham in the loss, they aren't going to lose in the region in my opinion. The odds of 5 or 6 turnovers to 0 against Graham again are near zero. Granted, Graham has a healthy QB which certainly matters as Princeton can testify to

Is it Union vs Gate City or Union vs Graham? One of these games both sets of fans complain about the other one blowing train horns.
