I’m out of reactions but bravo!!! 🙌🏻 I don’t understand the mentality of grown men putting down high school kids, period.

Absolutely a Riverheads diehard fan and new to posting but not viewing the board.
 
Two things:
First, that was quite the accomplishment by Cassius Harris regardless, so congrats to him. 
Second, I don’t think anyone has ever mistaken Riverheads for being a speed team so that’s not a surprise statement. Thing is they win against speed teams more times than not. 
 
The system is not flashy and certainly the defense frustrates us as fans sometimes. But it works fairly consistently against a rather diverse group of offenses. 
 
I have no ill will and do not intend to argue, just wanted to say that there is no need for anyone to crap on one kids accomplishment to bolster another's. They are after all high school kids not paid professionals, lol. 

This is a game Graham should take, TBH.  May very well see them again.

I kind of get the whole points thing and if you lose, etc, but............at some point it should come down to letting your kids play a football game. For the seniors, it is their final year and high school football seasons are short.  I just don't understand the "scheming" on power points or worrying about losing and what it will do to your power point ranking. Because, with what has happened in the spring with a shortened season and at present, a coaches and ADs duty to find your kids a football game and let them play trump's worrying about how many power points you get or don't get.

You only get so many guaranteed games in high school and ducking a team an losing a game to me isn’t worth it! U don’t get better by beating soft teams! GW could have played graham Saturday from what I’ve been hearing and they chose not to!! Even with a loss they still will make the playoffs! Kudos to Galax for going out 7 players down and playing! That’s how you get better! Not sitting around for a month and doing nothing like GW will be doing!! Iron  sharpens iron!!!

I feel as your statement has a lot of merit and truth to it.  Avoiding Graham and a Gaurantee loss and therefore dividing by less games for points gives them a edge for playoffs which is crap if that is the case. Maybe not, I hope not. But if so that's just bad. Take the Galax team that had to open against Glenvar after missing a week of practice and a scrimmage then turn around and play Graham with out their whole receiver Corps  and so one said six totla starters.  Which can certainly come back to hurt them in playoffs the way Giles and Chilhowie  is playing currently.

Galax undersized line is more than holding their own against Graham. Thus far

Most of those 180 came on 2 plays.  Graham is far from dominating.  Sloppy and playing with no fire..

Is that a true 69 yards  or is Galax fooling Graham tonight as well. ????????

The little secret here is that Tazewell’s defense is better than you’d think at first glance.  They’ve held both Graham and Virginia High in the 30s, and they simply wore down Mount View as the game went along.  Riverheads is an entirely different animal, though.  I don’t think Riverheads hits the 60s like many around here think.  
 
Tazewell’s offensive gameplan is perhaps the lone weakness for Riverheads.  They have had a little trouble at defending the pass.  I think Tazewell will move the ball a little and put up a few points.  But Riverheads is arguably the best team west of U.S. 29 (and yes, that includes Salem).  There will be no tougher test.

I decided to attempt to keep track of Class 1/2 on the west side. Probably should have picked a different year! haha Trying to keep track of all the ppd/ccd games has been nuts. Thanks to @VHSLhelper for his "moves" thread! Also, due to the amount of teams playing private schools and way out of their region, more teams to keep track of. Don't shoot me if these aren't 100% accurate, I'm sure I've missed some. If you see a mistake, let me know.

I agree with you 100 percent and this was exactly what I was trying to get across in my post, but poorly worded 

You guys are missing my point. I am writing the following or at least this is what I am meaning...........because Graham was down does not devalue the wins Galax had. My point is... Galax beat Graham straight up and it didn't matter, can't be used as an excuse that Graham was down. I didn't word it well, but I think you Topper a d Hokiebird are agreeing with me.

VTdavis - id says those games mattered especially since the VHSL all time single game rushing record of 503 yards  by Steven Peoples against Graham happened in one of those games.

It wouldn't matter. Galax had those wins over Graham when Graham had what might be it's lowest 10 year stretch in its history while Galax was likely having its best stretch in school history. Does it matter? Not really. Those wins by Galax still count, but Graham since about 2016ish is back to being the Graham of usual and even with Dixon, 8 out of 10 years, Graham's gonna win. Galax dodged 3 losses to Graham from 2018, 19, and spring of 21.

I'm not so sure about that. I think the times may have been incorrect, as Ashworth had way more than 28 yards rushing. Even accounting for tackles for loss.
