Idk I think Giles beats Grayson Co. They have barely won against inferior competition. No way Grayson blows them out maybe a close one like their previous games but no blow out. Also no way Giles wins all four games for district either. They will win 2 I believe maybe 3 tops. 
 
Narrows goes 9-1 with a loss to James Monroe. They lose in the 2nd or 3rd round of playoffs as usual.

Floyd lost to Blacksburg 40-14 a week ago and beaten soundly by Fort Chiswell the week before. Grayson isn’t living up to the preseason hype. They haven’t looked impressive in a single game this season against a pretty weak schedule. 

All too many times on here, we view consolidation thru the eyes of the football team. Most of these counties would have excellent football teams if consolidation happened. Personally, Tazewell County could average 68 points a game on offense while giving up >6 points a game. But Tazewell county isn't going to consolidate anytime soon. In fact, current kindergarteners at any Tazewell County school, barring moving will stay attend the same town high school. Buchanan County is still fighting to avoid consolidation. Smyth county might but Marion wont be a part of it, same with Scott county and Gate City. Schools are too expensive and recent consolidations have scared counties from jumping the gun. I've gotten that info first hand. Consolidation sounds great on here, but sometimes its unfeasible. Tazewell and Graham could drop today and still be one of the largest 1A schools, and within the next 10 years, I say they will. But Richlands couldn't drop. 

This is my first time taking a shot at this. Would like to start doing 1D if I get the time.

I'll double up on that and say that they'll win it.  Having the very best player in Class 2 doesn't hurt.  Plus, the team Riverheads faces won't be from Region D.

I’ve been around for 20+ years. I started swva sports.com back when I started swvaol.com which was a dial up internet device. Roughly in 2001 or so. At that time gman had the old swvafootball message board going.  My idea was to bring it all under one roof at swvasports so we could have one place to visit and talk about everything year round and not 15 different pages that were dedicated to each sport. Gman liked the idea and this place was born. At some point years later I got busy with kids, life, family etc etc. and kinda faded in to the background. Gman has kept it rolling along but he’s ready for a break. Instead of closing doors here I told him I’d just come out of semi retirement and keep it rolling. So here we are. Getting ready to move it to a new server, clean up a few things, and on down the road we go. Together. 
 
gman will still be around I’m sure. 
 
not much should really change. I’ll try to do a few things to make it better.

my understanding is they took applications through last friday April 14. heard they had 6 interviews scheduled 2 days ago on Tuesday. heard 19 total applicants, so don't know how many interviews are planned. from my understanding there is a school board meeting scheduled for May the 4th, and they are trying to have everything done so school board can vote to approve hiring at that time. This is all second hand news from a fairly reliable source. I'm not an insider to any of this.

John Marshall is about to "feel" in football how opponents "feel" when they play them in basketball.  Somebody is gettin takin to the woodshed, and it won't be the Red Team.  That game will be OVER by the end of the first quarter.  Riverheads if far to physical for them.

To to inject a little humor into this topic, If auburn, Bland and Craig all ended their football programs, you would be putting enormous pressure on the AD at Narrows to find  3 more regular season cupcakes to continue their impressive string of regular season successes

I know some guys around the golf course in Riner. I'm not sure that community will ever be fully on-board with what it takes to develop a winning football program. They have been dominant in Class 1 across the region and state in everything but football. Those kids participate year-round in track, cross country, volleyball, baseball, softball, basketball, soccer, swim, tennis, and golf. Not a lot left for football.
When I say dominant, VHSL Book Of Records shows 91 state championships in various sports (team and individual) since 2012!!!

I thought GWs move up to Group 2 was a typographical error, that was later pointed out and corrected?
