You can have your conspiracy theories, if you don’t have to deal with it anymore and you are thankful for that, then why you commenting? Mediocre? Central hasn’t Beaton the great union bears last 4 times. All coaches questions The refs. Nothing wrong with that.
Pull up TJ's career record and tell me that it's not mediocre. So now what's the Warriors record vs the Bears AD? Total domination in boys bball by Union since the get until the last 4 games:) BTW the team with Caleb Mills and co had Scotty V coached them would have won many ball games:) I am commenting AD because this isn't China. It's MERICA and I can say what I please:). We toe the line together AD. Don't be gettin' all offended on me now. Thick skin bro, thick skin:)

Unchained you have no idea about the football field! He didn’t want his name on it! He tried to do something for the kids of wise and pound since we were the only school that got screwed by perry on where the school went. Not one parent from neither town wanted it up there but Perry must have gotten a kick back from it with norton. So they built a school with no facilities! So in 5 10 15 years other kids that come up to central will be playing on that field that the people you are down grading! It’s not about the mcamis family to them it’s about every kid! So before you run your mouth about something you have no idea about you may want to do some fact checking! And the whole burton thing wasn’t a coach problem either! It was students (from both sides)and coalfield problem, not gonna go into detail about it. You are right about kids do what coaches ask them to do! But kids also take stuff into their own hands and do what they want. They are kids!
I struck a nerve as it's family I know, but that name is there nonetheless. Seriously do you think that for so many years at JJK and now CHS the record in boys bball is mediocre at best,so many outrageous stunts that EVERYBODY loathes and stereotypes good kids because of his stunts...etc that if his last name wasn't McAmis he'd still be there?:). If so 1 of 2 things are a fact then. A. You are delusional,or B. The folks up there REALLY don't care about not just the sport but the reputation of that school. Trust me AD I know there's great kids up there and want them to excel, but year after year the proof is in the pudding so to speak. Thankfully with my kids grown and gone I don't have to deal with that mess at CHS anymore, but the kids there now surely deserve better. I truly feel bad for them. Perhaps it's worse because the girls coach has tremendous success and does it with pure class.

Congrats to Mason Polier for becoming Union's first ever state title winner,as well as the 2 young men from Abingdon, and a MASSIVE salute to Lebanon's Cole Stoots. FOUR state tites is such rare air-extremely impressive!

The kids on the Central basketball team all are pretty good kids, I know most of them pretty good and have been watching them play since they were in elementary school, so don't let the actions of a COACH ruin it for the kids!
That's the truth. Kids do what coaches tell them to. You want this mess to stop, get rid of the coach. That will not happen in Wise though. Heck the football place carries his daddy's name. Folks up there would rather be loathed and or embarrassed than care about the reputation of the school or good kids. You would have thought changes would have come when they were no longer allowed anymore to play the team that should have been their biggest rival (Burton) It's really rather sad IMO. Please do not judge these kids by their coach. That would be like judging a class act like Robin Dotson by the redneck fans there (and there's rednecks everywhere, but EVERYBODY hates Central and that's not the case with other schools).

Central just has Unions number this year. It’s almost a mental thing I think. It seems like Central overplays and Union underplays when they matchup.
I guess they were due this year. Union has dominated the series

The hilarious part was the posts from the RV fan bragging about beating Central in boys basketball (not like it's like beating the girls) twice and then losing to Central when it counted:). Shew man save for GC boys basketball in the M7:(

Didn’t sit the starters, but coaching kills them every time!!! Not taking nothing away from a Ridgeview team that played with a lot of heart and determination, but it’s beyond me how a Central team with that much talent can’t win in this district. Not sure if it’s just me but something has got to give starting at the top down for Central boys basketball.
The same way they didn't win when they had Caleb Mills and company. That squad should have been a solid contender. It blows my mind how mediocrity for years upon years and nothing changes:(

Easy explanation. Boy's basketball in Wise County is bad (last team to win state? 1974 Powell Valley Vikings)

Some refs won't officiate Wise games, so the pool is limited when they play.
The refs don't get to pick and choose. They are assigned

First, who coined the term “scrum”, lol.
Second, both sides ARE at fault.
Wise plays like TJ did in high school. He played very chippy and annoying to try to get opposition riled up to mess up their game. I don’t know how much he has coached players to take kids out so can’t say much about that.
Wise fans were allowed to hang a sign saying “Merry Christmas to everyone except GC”. That falls on the school administrators as much as TJ. With the history of these teams, why allow something that starts a riff between crowds (much like the diapers on sticks at GC) before the game starts?
If the schools truly want it to end, step in and make it clear that it needs to stop. Stop whining about each other on message boards.
Or here's a thought: Say "We are better than this",not get baited, shut your mouths and play ball

McAnus encourages dirty play. No doubt about it. If he didn’t encourage it, he would discipline his players every year when they play us. Nope, what does he do? He claps hard with a gritty face like he freakin loves it. They try to roughhouse Gate City every year but it ends up pissing GC off and they get their arse beat. Pissing GC off on the court is the worst thing to do. Once you give them fire, it’s over. Wise Central and McAnus haven’t learned this yet.
I am always amused when GC folks brag about hammering Central in boys basketball like it's some kinda big deal to chest thump about. )The M7 in boy's b-ball has been a 1 horse race since the get. Beating Central in boy's basketball is no feat at all. Beating their girls is noteworthy. I also wonder why literally every time GC and Central play in boy's b-ball there's always a big dramatic list of posts talking about scrums, near scrums...etc. When you play someone multiple times and BOTH sides get chippy EVERY single time then that's BOTH coaches not getting their kids in line. At some point it is the responsibility of both coaches to have a little pow wow and say "Enough of this crap. We need to represent our communities better than this".

Nobody can ever doubt the love for the game of football our region has. Kids from several area schools made the trip to Salem today to support Graham. The posters of this message board have been quite frankly, kick ass. Thanks for the support. Can't say that enough. It feels good to have that championship brought back to our end of the state.
To our kids, TAKE IT ALL IN. Enjoy the moment. We are all very proud of you and all the coaching staff.
Our area is always looked down by upstate. We owe it to each other to ride together when one of our teams plays for a state title. They aren't just representing their school, but representing us all.

Absolutely. You can't leave points on the board vs a team like the Bulldogs. Execute and finish fellows.
