Times change. Alot of the younger generations prefer virtual entertainment to contact sports. Thats just how civilization works, what interested our fathers and grandfathers, don't always interest the children. And populations does continue to decline, there is not much to keep people here other than family.

Grundy has never had real big numbers. The years I played during our four years in a row going to the regional championships we were lucky if we 20 to 30 come out. Whittled that down to around 20 by the end of the year. So I'm glad to finally see some kids show up. Can't wait to catch a few games this year, work willing.

I'll be completely honest in saying I have no earthly idea where Patrick Henry even is, only hear about the school in passing. Being undefeated is nothing to sneeze about, still a great accomplishment. I just know less than nothing about the school or its program. No slight to PH at all.

Anyone catch their new top 5? Their selection skills are a little off I think. While I am proud of my grundy boys, I dont think they need to be on this list. It's still early in the year, and I don't really know much about Patrick Henry or lee, but Richlands and at least graham, probably a few more, need to be on the list. They have as follows. 5. Lee High 4. Grundy 3. Patrick Henry 2. Union 1. Abingdon.

Well 15 years is sorta old I guess, I played in the first three grundy-twin valley games, sure as hell makes me feel old lol.

I couldn't tell you the people ive heard pronounce Haysi, hey-see and Honaker, Hahn-aker. Grinds my gears.
