What is strange is that in the years before Tom Turner took over the Appy program, they ran the same exact version of the T that you guys ran...they had the same coach.

LCC gave up early in third quarter, calling an inside run on 4th and 5 deep in their own territory when Union had totally shut down the run all night. The coaching for LCC was flat out terrible.

Definately could’ve been a lot worse. He pretty much just dumped him. He could have driven his shoulder into him as he took him to the ground or came down on top of him with all his weight...but he didn’t. That alone tells me he wasn’t trying to hurt the kid.

I was looking at the BSG P-Nut teams in the local paper earlier. I counted 121 kids spread over 4 teams. Granted, those kids are from both Appy and BSG, but solid numbers none the less.

The way I understand it that the Appalachia Training School was renamed Central High, but both were really the same school using the same building. Bland was built because Central High was dilapidated and a new building was needed.

From my understanding, Central was in Appalachia. When the building that presently houses the police station and water department in BSG was built, that school was Bland. The mascot for both was Buffalos. Here’s a link from the SWVA Museum:

The play happened right in front of me.  The blocker had his right hand grabbing the neckline of 82's shoulder pads, and his left was on the shoulder full of jersey.  From the home side, the hold was more than obvious.

Where does everyone get that the Championship game has to be the 2 best teams in the state? In no sport is the focus on determining who is second best...the focus is on determining a champion.  If you really want to watch something where first runner up matters, I'd suggest beauty pageants.  East vs West is fine...I would like to see the alternating of sites the semis between C&D and A&B, though.

No to Cross Bracketing. I like the idea of BEST IN WEST vs BEST IN EAST....plus the limited travel without it. 7.5 from Hampton to Big Stone Gap. I had to seriously think about that one this weekend and I chose to stay home and stream. 

If calls on those 2 plays were  split one per team, the outcome would’ve been affected...that was a total of 13 points either gained or set up on those 2 calls alone. The punt following the procedure penalty was bad, but with the offsides penalty, Union gets the first down and goes to the locker room no worse than 14 down...not 20.

I hate cross-bracketing. In tournament style play, there is never a guarantee you will get the two perceived best teams in the final...no need for it. The purpose is to declare a champion, that’s it.

The horrendous no call when Mitchell was behind held right in front of the official on the PR TD was bad but that call was worse. 

It was right in front of me, too. A bad situation in the game for an inept call.

The horn was awesome...nice set up you have there.

But, since your comprehension skills have failed you, I’ll say it to you in terms you can clearly understand. We are discussing whether or not a call should have gone against the offense or defense. What an environment! The entrance of the team with the band, cheerleaders, and AC/DC was first rate!!!!!! 
Loved the environment, fans for Union were pumped!!! Just awesome highschool football!!!!
 
Gonna hold the Union/Southwest VA folks who said they would be pulling for us in the championship if we won to your statement.  Hope you bring some excitement to Salem in support of the west!!!!
 
Got ask with the big environment you promote, what you thought about the Appomattox crowd we brought. I was proud of our fans making the trip and representing!!!!

Mitchell is a presence on the field. Glad we jammed him up in the back field or before he really got rolling. When he made 2nd level he was scary big and fast!!!!  Best of luck to him in where he chooses.
