My opinion, Colobro (or some other rumored coach) will handle the next four years mentoring the next coach.  Most likely the MS coach if he wants it.  At that time if the MS coach doesn't want it then we start this process all over again.

In response to NaderFan: Being a Spartan I will admit that the Biedelman brothers were brought to Giles in 2014 in hopes of winning a championship. I worked with their dad at Volvo. Yes they are good athletes but are not program changing athletes. But look at the Giles state team in 2013 or 2005 and see how many transfers helped us win state. I cannot think of any. Graham nor Richlands can argue with each other this season about transfers because they both had athletes, especially Graham that changed the program. Graham has other talent besides Cousin, but lets face it, he gave them the spark they needed. And Richlands offense centered around Howie, just look at the stats. All schools have transfers somewhere down the line, so we cant bash Richlands, Graham, Giles, Appo, or anyone else.

For Richlands to be in the State Championship this weekend, it's awful quite on here! As this is hard for me to say that it deserves it's own thread. lol. But seriously, GOOD LUCK THIS WEEKEND BLUENADERS!

Good luck to Richlands rest of the way. They were certainly the better team tonight. Out-played. Out-coached. Superior line play. No excuses. RHS the better team. All this talk about Appomattox. They will have to get past Richlands.. Very tough task.. My money is on the Blue Tornado.

The carousel has to stop at some point, no more rides.  The foundation has to be set and built on trust and support, support from parents, kids, and the community.  Do I want it back like in 1986, sure but everyone has to be involved.  It has gotten to the point where "I don't have a kid on the team so I have no need to participate" or "let someone else take care of it" attitude.  People in all categories of the school sports programs need to volunteer their time and see how much is involved, it's more than one night a month or three months out of the year.  In my opinion I think that's a major problem for Tazewell football, people want a quick fix overnight and it's not going to happen.  My two cents.

Worst offensively called game ive ever witnessed. Worst decision making on John Lukes part that I have seen by him thus far. Richlands got out coached and out hussled. I call this the "Classic Mance!" When in need, dont suceed!

You mean classic overrated coach. Can't win big games.

Here is why Graham lost and Richlands won.
 
1) When the early whistle on the fumble happened Graham cried about it, pouted and argued. Richlands saw this and went right for the throat with the TD pass on the next play to Howie.
2) Richlands kept getting the ball to their best athletes, Graham didn't. Cousin may have had 10 carries.
3) Richlands made adjustments at half, Graham didn't.

Congratulations to Richlands.  Graham had plenty of chances to win this game.  Some penalties in crucial situations.  Some questionable play calling.  Why would you kick it short nearly EVERY time and give Richlands field position with the speed you have on special teams?  Two dropped balls that would have went for TD's.  The big run by Cousin that got called back.  A couple of bone headed penalties (one that was bogus on Vineyard, it was a clean hit).  I could go on.... but the bottom line is that Richlands remained poised and Graham did not and that is why they lost.  Hopefully they learn from this and will have the chance for redemption later in the season.  Looks like the West has some good teams afterall.

I'm kinda concerned with 2 issues with the blues this year that i noticed yesterday.  They've been talked about already but just want to throw my 2 cents in.
 1st is exactly what most are talking about,  and that is the running game.  Our spread will be effective MOST of the time and has the ability to score from just about anywhere on the field at any time,  but,  there will come a time when we need to run clock  or pick up a 3rd and short or pick up a yard or 2 when down inside the 5,  and we will need a little bit of a running game because we will come up against teams that have the speed, size and the ability to cover our receivers and/or put pressure on JLA.  Our running back by committee does worry me a little,  mostly once we get into the playoffs because there you will see better coaching and athletes and you have to be able to keep people honest,  but,  I do like a lot of what I have seen with the offense and i am also sure that Mance didn't show a 1/10th of what the O will look like once the season begins.  ( which most don't )
My other concern is the defense and most specifically the linebackers.  I was concerned about the running D that I saw against GW and especially against PC,  but that was the first time most of those guys have been thrown to the fire and they did get better as the night went along and I think they have a lot of talent and should be a good bunch 3 or 4 games in.  
A lot of what I saw is fixable like, shooting the wrong gap, not staying home, running by the ball carrier as they put pressure on,  it is what happens to young guys that need reps, which they will get, and they will get coached up with this coaching staff.
The D line did look very good for the most part and kept pressure on the QB's most of the night.  The D-ends need to keep contain a little better,  but it is still VERY early.
This team has a lot of potential,  but how good they get depends on how fast the young guys on D come along and whether they are able to run the ball effectively.  That doesn't mean 200 yards a game like we had with Devon,  but just break one once in a while and pick up a 3rd and short to keep a drive going and make a team pay when they drop 7 into coverage.   I have a lot of confidence that this coaching staff will coach these kids up !
