  1. I know what you mean Bigrhsfan. Not only did we take the salt pills, we also had salt water for our water breaks!
  2. If I were going to guess I would have to say a Squatch or a Mountain Lion. :)
  3. How about Cabelas instead of Bass Pro? The rumors I keep hearing are: Cabelas, Kohls, Macy & Costco.
  4. I will date myself here. I had a government professor that thought he knew everything about politics and he was a die hard Republican. He guaranteed the class that William Wampler would never be beaten in the 9th District of Virginia congressional race and if Wampler did lose, we would all get an A on our final exam. That year was the year that Rick Boucher defeated William Wampler. I learned two valuable lessons in that class: 1) Just because a guy has a Doctorate in a certain field does not mean he can see into the future, and 2) Never make a guarantee in public especially if you have no control in the outcome of the guarantee.
  5. Prayers for the families/friends/community.

A kid from PH told me that he thinks that it starts at 5:00.
  7. Sure. I will weigh in. I had student loans. I paid them all off. When you sign up for a loan, you are agreeing to pay it back. So pay it back like you agreed to in the first place.
  8. That is horrible! These girls had no remorse at all and didn't seem to think that they had done anything bad at all.
  9. Big O. I agree with your points, especially the politics. My kids did not go to Abingdon, but I know a lot of people that either went to Abingdon and/or had kids that went there. Almost every one of them talk about the politics that goes on at Abingon. Even some that benefited from the political connections tell me that the politics are terrible at Abingdon High School.
  10. The Principal got his feelings hurt and decided he would show the kids who had the power. Turns out the Principal got shown who really has the power.
  11. [i also do not think that it appropriate to compare inherited and unchangeable racial traits with non genetic and changeable behavior. "Same sex" marriage is sterile by nature and therefore only appeals to the personal gratification of those involved, therefore it does not need to be protected or promoted by the state as a legal institution. I agree 100%!
  12. I am a huge Va Tech fan so it pains me to say this but UVA's campus has to rank at the top of my list.
  13. Rural Retreat was in the Hogo at the same time as Honaker was. At that time it was Honaker, Lebanon, Castlewood, Rural Retreat, Rich Valley, Saltville, Holston, Chilhowie. George Wythe and Patrick Henry (current Hogo members) were both AA schools at that time and were not part of the Hogo.
  14. Honaker was actually once a member of the Hogoheegee back in the late 70s/early 80s.
  15. I have been hearing that Billy Wyatt, former head coach at Northwood is in the running. He was an assistant for Adams at Lebanon for about 10 years in the 90s.
  16. I always wondered what was the deal with Williams? He had a very good record, then "retired", the program kind of went down hill, he came back built the program back and "retired" again. I am not from that area. I was just wondering did he really "retire" on his own both times or were there other circumstances involved?
  17. Marion applied to get in to the Hogoheegee and was voted down 4-2.
  18. I haven't seen Va High play yet but I hear they are loaded. They have a quick point guard, some pretty tall players, and 4 or 5 guys that can get double figures each game. They also have a kid that transferred from JJ Kelly (I think) that is 6-5 and a pretty good ball player. I heard that they were beating teams by 30 to 40 points or more in summer camps this past summer.
