I think Union could be better than 7 & 3,  and I like Honaker,  but I'm not sure about 10-0.  They have a chance to be good but going 10-0 is hard and they did loose some good players from last year.

But they have a very manageable schedule. 10-0 isn't that far out of the realm of possibility.

As for Union, I see them at either 9-1 or 8-2. Losses to Richlands and either GC/Ridgeview.

Much more reasonable looking rankings here! I agree with alot of it....however I'd have GC between the 9-12 spot and probably move Union into the 4 or 5 spot. Wouldn't be a bit afraid to put Ridgeview in the 9-12 spot either. But that will all come out in the wash after about week 8 or so. The real top 8 or top 10 will emerge

Gate City at 9-1 is equally as bad. If we didn't have Bluefield and Sullivan South on our schedule i would call it highly unlikely but still a chance.

Gretna at 2-8?!?! Woahh....i just now seen that. Think that may be feasible for them this year?

I certainly hope you are being sarcastic with that...if you are, I can't sense it.

Anyone who thinks CalPreps is worth a $hit is probably an Obama supporter...

One section of the Calpreps website has Altavista and Honaker ranked as the 4th and 5th best teams in the state, regardless of classification.  Another section has Radford the top 1A west school when only considering other 1A west schools.

Kinda speaks to GMan's point.

Radford has the speed but they are small in the trenches.

The rankings are generally off imo.

GCs not gonna go 9-1 and GW isint gonna go 5-5.

RC isint gonna lose all of their games.

Btw, I constantly overlook Covington. Does anyone know what they graduated?

I would say the 0-11  / 3-8 records are because for some odd reason MaxPreps has Eastside listed as two seperate games for some schools (one as Eastside, the other as Coeburn).

That appears to be the case for several schools who have recently consolidated.

I hadn't looked very close at Honaker's schedule so I would say you are probably right about that.

At first back in July I thought Richlands would go 10-0 easily. Then Union, Bluefield and Abingdon all look like very good teams all of those could beat us and Gate City is always tough, if we stumble at all any of those teams they could beat us. The rest of the schedule looks like we should win all of those unless we have a complete meltdown. To me it feels like the area's level of play in the last few years has risen. Back in 2005 -2012 Richlands with this team would be beating everyone by 30+ points now I feel like we could be 7-3 if we don't take care of business.
