SwvaOG 601 Report Share Posted August 29, 2022 The Wolfpack travel to Nelson Field to take on the Golden Wave. Once every five years Grundy hatches from a cocoon and sports a Notre Dame replica uniform. Is this the year?? And do they have a shot Friday night? Will their run oriented offense test the front seven of RV???
Observer 78 Report Share Posted August 29, 2022 IMO this one might be close for a quarter if Grundy can put together a couple decent drives and run some clock. Ridgeview is just a better team, not a knock on Grundy.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see some long grass on the field for the Golden Wave. 😂
Jags52 346 Report Share Posted August 29, 2022 I dont think its close Grudy wont have any of the top 6 players on the field Ridgeview just has way too much talent for Grundy. If they get the ball first and can get a first down or 2 then maybe its not too ugly early but that clock will be running by the second half
stu_bean 1,058 Report Share Posted August 29, 2022 My source (a PH fan) said that Grundy has no pass defense. They were pretty decent defending the run but you could pass on them all night so... Ridgeview big I will say
bulldog05-CO2017 102 Report Share Posted August 29, 2022 Ridgeview picks the score. GMan
Packman 33 Report Share Posted August 29, 2022 I think O’Quinn throws for 300 yds and Ridgeview wins 49-7 and goes to 2-0. One Team! One Dream!
UnionGuy2017 182 Report Share Posted August 29, 2022 Ridgeview big. They won’t be tested in the slightest until October 7th.
Gridiron60 2,555 Report Share Posted August 29, 2022 Ridgeview by a lot especially if Grundy can’t defend the pass defense.
Wolf1207 239 Report Share Posted August 29, 2022 Go in, get the big lead, and get out. No need to mess around on the road. Gridiron60 and SwvaOG

BandanaVTDavis4321 1,717 Report Share Posted August 30, 2022 A wide open offense, spread formations....Grundy no likey. Unfavorable matchup aside from the talent difference, an unfavorable matchup for Grundy with RV's style of play.
S10SQUAREBODY4LIFE 239 Report Share Posted August 30, 2022 Team speed alone is miles apart, not in grundy favor. Repeat of last week in afraid, unless by chance it rains and the ghosts of grundy's muddy past comes calling.
Tru Blue 72 423 Report Share Posted August 30, 2022 RV wins going away, score will be what thwy want it to be. May be a good time to get younger players some experience.
swva_havok_fan 1,261 Report Share Posted August 30, 2022 Three things are for certain: Pack football team win by a lot. Pack football fans will be deaf for the next week after this game from the horrible PA system blaring music at a million decibels. Grundy PA announcer will complain and try to influence the refs about some holding call that wasn't called. With that said, Ridgeview wins something like 56-7. Packman, redtiger and SWVAgridiron 2

rdh2443 9 Report Share Posted August 30, 2022 Just watching RV the other night I got the feeling there a special team this year. Obviously there were things that needs work but over all they were very impressive. Fast hard hitting defense, offense that you just felt could score anytime they wanted, even the field goal kicker was perfect on the night. If they can work on some minor things and stay focused and healthy they will do just fine.
GMan 3,569 Report Share Posted August 31, 2022 The only thing Grundy has a chance to win is the coin toss. The game is a blowout after that...if Grundy scores it will be on the JV team in the 4th Q...

I have no doubt that Grundy will gain some yards on the ground, but that won't equate to enough points on the board. The Pack rolls.
Rams75 5 Report Share Posted September 1, 2022 I doubt Grundy runs all over them they struggled some what running on PH. Ridgeview will toss the pill around with ease.

RV’s defense looks small but they are athletic and fast. They need to improve swarming to the ball though.

RV will load the box to stop the run and play 1 safety.
