I'm a Ridgeview guy obviously.  Chilhowie and Ridgeview played to a 17-17 deadlock with starters in the game.  That seems pretty even to me.

They have a very good chance of winning it all, great team.

I'd love to see the Warriors get a state title. From my eldest wrestling vs their kids to the youngest's competing at the Apple Festival they have always been friends to us.

The 2018 team is one of the best ever to come out of Chilhowie. 
I'd rank them alongside 1971, 1980,  2001, and  2010. 

Would be nice to have 1A & 2A champs from SWVA , fingers crossed! 

They have a realistic shot at it.  Truly.

The big thing that people really underestimate around here because it's so rare that they see it, is how big of a difference it can be when a team has so much talent that they don't have to run players both ways. Football is a physically demanding sport, and being able to run players exclusively on offense or defense, especially in 1A is a HUGE advantage.

We'll see what happens. They will not have an easy path at all, especially if they run into Galax in the semis and Riverheads in the finals, but I've never seen a 1A team that looks the part of state title contenders more than the Warriors this year.

Chilhowie has the chance next Friday to have their first perfect season since 1971. 

I hope they can win state this year.

I’m with you shady. I’ve tried to be humble and not “gloat” in their accomplishments as a team, but it’s time to give credit where credit is due.  These guys are one amazing team. One of the best teams I’ve seen  in years come out of SWVA. Most teams with 3 starters out would crumble, Chilhowie did not, they proved last night what caliber of a team they really are. 

I thought the Warriors were good but they're not. They are real good. This was the first time I saw them this year and they have weapons. Also heard they had two starters out on defense and will be getting them back next week. Wow!

I think it is based off sr night and drawing a gate. 

I’ll say this for any players who may be reading this board.  I’ve always found it true that if you focus on doing the little things right, the big things and the accolades will follow.  Stay hungry; don’t go fishing for attention; don’t read your own press clippings; and keep making yourself better every day.  

I’ve watched both teams play. PH has a good running game but its mostly in one player.  If Chilhowie can control him and be a little more disciplined this week it’ll be another big win for Chilhowie.

Also, If you want a seat you better get there early,  between Chilhowie and PH’s fans, plus all the other people who come just to see one or the other get beat it will be a packed house. 😂

Knowing that some HS kids read (and post) on this board, I will say this.  If you are considering ending your own life, those feelings are not normal and healthy.  It’s OK to be “not OK”, but please seek help if you are feeling these emotions; every insurance provides for mental health evaluation and treatment.  Suicide is a permanent solution to temporary troubles.  People do care: your family, your friends, and your community care.  And believe you me, once you walk off that stage in early June after your senior year, the “crap” that goes along with high school disappears.

Gate City showed something tonight.  If the team were as pitiful as most folks from Scott County think they are, they wouldn’t have made a comeback like this.  Props to Gate City; I hope those kids and their coaches get rewarded for their hard work and spirit in the remaining weeks of the season.  They sure deserve it
