I won't disagree that the talent is down. But, it's not 1-9 down. Plus, with better coaches, kids playing elsewhere or not at all could help immensely if they came back. GC football really isn't a quick fix right now. Going back into LL it may take a few years after a coaching change.

To be fair, Colobro would not have his 97 championship without Houseright or his 03 championship without Martin, so... Having a gunslinger under center didn't hurt either...

Agree. It seems like half of SWVA dislikes McClung for whatever reason but I hope nothing but the best for him. The NBA is a long way away but his performances in their summer league against other D1 players have been very impressive.

For what it’s worth, I paid the fee for the game tonight — despite the issues with the last stream — and so far so good. 

Lee wouldn't have beat GC, Graham or Radford IMO. Graham was great on defense and while they did rely on one primary scorer, Dalton could work inside and Barker (might be wrong on name) hit some big shots. Lee was literally Vaughn or nothing, even tho some players looked like they could score at times. 
 
GC clowned on Lee in second half, Graham made them earn every bucket. 

I didn't go but watched it online, but I'll have to agree with Graham's coach on the people who oversaw the planning for that game did an outstanding job.  Everything I've heard was positive.  Yea more people would have went if it was in a bigger gym but that one was plenty big enough under the current format.  The idea to only presale tickets was genius because you didn't have an overflow of people there that couldn't get in as well as people showing up super early while school was still in.  Great job!!

If GC plays like they did tonight, no one is beating them. MM has good game but Ervin, Dean and the role players all played well.

Not a chance.  I saw where 1000 each have been sent to GC and Radford, so there is only about 1400 that will be sold at the door. The game is however being streamed on NFHS Network, but I'd assume you have to pay some kind of subscription fee.

Guys, can't we all put this petty rivalry stuff behind us and direct our ire towards the place it really belongs?

Well, they shook hands with the Graham players, accepted their trophy for runner-up and then went to the locker room.  Just because they didn't pose for a team picture doesn't mean that is classless.  They didnt accomplish what they had set out to do last weekend so they didn't feel like taking a picture.

Absolutely false.  GC lined up and shook hands to congratulate Graham and then they got their trophy.  What they didn't do was pose for a team picture like the other teams had done in the previous games.  To me, there isn't anything wrong with that because that's not the trophy they are seeking.  Yea winning the region would be great but luckily it doesn't mean you can't still win the state.
