Hokie1Pokie got a reaction from BHS03 in Vote for Mitchell Stadium
I just pretended like I was from there in El Paso. I reminded them it's a Saturday night and that "we" are behind a quarter of a million votes, and voting is now a waste of time, and that Saturday nights are best for being at the "club." This an attack on their psychy a little bit. It's kind of an attempt to discourage voters.

I just voted 100 times and I'm proud of it. If I get enough energy, I will out up another 100 this evening. Once you get the thumb, enter, and backspace button down, it becomes like muscle memory😆

I know Ridgeview didn't have their QB, but still...…..the results above are what happens when a passing team gets a lead on a running team and forces the running team into a scoring affair. It also hints to me that Ridgeview may have some trouble covering speed in open space, as Pikeville loves to spread it out and throw it, and run out of wide formations.

They really are. I read through all the comments and there is a comment that reads “ but he did knock the hell out of the little 3 footer”. Not once was the young man called a kid or his injury made fun of. Chances are the parents didn’t even know the other kid was injured. Call me whatever, but considering the magnitude of the game and the call being dead wrong, this comment is pretty tame considering what could have been said, especially when it’s a mother justified in defending her son.

Close.and tough to tell, but it echoed the theme of the game, another 50/50 call that went in favor of Richlands. I have no problem with a missed call or simply a bad call. I have an issue when one team is getting and overwhelming or lob sided portion of what could be considered 50/50 calls. When that happens, it's almost always a crew that is caught up in the moment, caught in the emotion of the game be it the atmosphere, noise, environment, etc. We see it some in baskeball arenas with teams playing at home. It's not intentional, but it does happen. It happened last night as far as I'm concerned, and when it does, I will also say so and defend my boys.
What Graham did was remarkable. They played without a state POY candidate, on the road, against a team treating this game like it was their Superbowl, and was on the short end of almost all of the 50/50 calls, had 2 TDs called back and in the end, blew Richlands out 37-10. That's remarkable to me.

As you mentioned Gridiron, great credit to Tony and his staff offensively. They had Richlands guessing defensively and Tony continued to force the issue. The issue or advantage Graham thought they might have was Richlands difficulty covering Graham's speedy receivers. Even with Devin out, Tony continued to spread Richlands out and he still put the ball in the air forcing Richlands to cover. It was a perfect time for Graham's OL to grow up a bunch. Booker ran hard and he also had some big holes and got a great starting push from our OL.

I’ll be right here defending my boys. You don’t go high to hit a player. Go for the body, not the head. He was held out last night for a possible concussion. I’ll defend my boys until the day they put me in the ground. And I’ll be right here to do so.

On a side note. I'm pretty sure the National Anthem at the beginning of the game was somewhat of a mix up but I thought it turned out pretty cool both teams lined up for the kickoff. The fireworks at the beginning was pretty cool as well. I'm just glad Richlands didn't have the opportunity to set off the "Grand Finale" at the end of the game.

It looked like he was tackled 2 yards deep in the endzone from where I was watching. But I didnt have the best angle.

Exactly. He didn’t go high, I watched the video time after time. However, I hope the kid is okay. Good clean hit by Lester. You can’t make a good hard hit in today’s time though. Football isn’t football anymore.

That kid got drilled with a textbook perfect tackle nothing more, nothing less. You're right, football isn't football anymore. Like another poster stated, it hurt Richlands in the end because it fired up the GMen. It was a great team effort on both sides of the ball. Great play calling by Tony. Richlands play calling was lacking last night. They needed to change things up and never seemed to be able to adjust offensively to Graham's defense. Who would have thought Webb would have 10 yards from passing and 4 on the ground. It gives me hope if we meet Ridgeview or Union in playoffs, we can contain Polier and Adkins, maybe not to the extend we did Webb but hopefully well enough to win.

Hokie1Pokie got a reaction from Gridiron60 in Graham vs Richlands
Shifting the goal posts a bit? After you called me a liar after simply pointing out that Ron Brown said he did not think it was intentional on the air, you blew a gasket and lost your cool a little bit. Probably out of anger at the beat down that was occuring. Anyway, whether or not Richlands "hires officials," has no relevance to whether it was a good call or bad one. Because Richlands does Not hire officials, lol, does not mean the kid should have been ejected. It was a horrible call to eject him. A 50/50 call that could go either way on the field and likely the right call for sure for a personal Foul, but to eject him in that moment? A horrific call by the officials that let EMOTION, emotion of the game and Richlands coaches cloud objectivity.
The officials last night often let the emotion of the game cloud judgement. We can certainly say this if you disagree with the above......Graham certainly didn't benefit from calls.

I doubt any 1D that wins region will get by Galax. Maroon Tide is on a whole other level than Class A teams , heck they're on another level than many 2D teams.

Said it when it happened. Personal Foul, clearly a hit that was to high, but no ejection warranted. The officials got one half of the situation right. We have to remember the officials have two decisions, not one.
Was it high contact, head to head, at least a personal Foul, etc?
Does the above warrant and ejection?
Like I said, they got one half of it correct.

Got to give props to Graham's offensive line. Richlands was playing at a high level and Graham's offensive line got the best of Richlands. We were able to get a nice push against a very solid defensive line and that's an excellent sign if your a Graham fan. Our offensive line has been improving and they grew up tonight. Guys like Kiser, Atkins and really all 5 from tackle to tackle really have stepped it up. Graham can certainly lose again in the Region. Union showed us that, but if your a Graham fan, you have to like your chances. We have a pretty solid football team and they were down and disappointed after the Union loss, but the G-Men are far from done yet.

That's actually good for Graham in my opinion. Helps Blevins get the reps and keeps Lester healthy.
P.S. I remember a post earlier in the year on here stating Graham wouldn't win 4 games if Lester weren't playing. Well...….that might still be true, but 1 of those 4 would have come on the road against Richlands, lol.
