If Graham or RV were to run table or Union runs table with only 1 loss on season, keep your eyes on Raddy vs CBurg this upcoming weekend. That game could be the decisive game if we win region that will decide if we host or travel in the semi's IF we win Region.  1 loss Union Reg D winner and 1 loss Raddy will be close in points. An undefeated Graham or RV Region D outpoints 1 loss Radford. Huge game this weekend for us.

No but I'm a Raddy Homer.  But, Graham is better on the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball.

I dropped my son off at 6am Monday through Friday year round at the school until he got a driver license and started driving himself. Not only have the players bought into the breakfast club but the parents of the younger kids have bought in as well to get up and get the kids up there on a year round basis. And like you said I know a lot of the older kid's have took the time to pick up the younger ones as well. I know one young man that graduated a couple of years ago always had a car load when he arrived. Truthfully the whole community has bought in and supported the team. Not only has this helped them as a team but it has helped prepare them for life as well, they now understand a little more what it's like to get up early and go  put in the work that it takes to be successful in life. I get up at 4:50 every morning to go workout and my son who graduated last year still gets up and beats me there to get his day started before he goes to work or drive to college on the days he has classes. So to me Coach Dixon started this for football but he taught many life lessons in the process and Coach Allen has done a great job of keeping it going.

Congratulations to your kids and programs. This old school approach has definitely been effective. On the flip side, to you cat feeders, isn’t the minimum effective dose the opposite of the old school approach? My admittedly brief research led me to believe the mantra is “work smarter, not harder.” Thoughts?

I saw it first-hand last school year dropping my daughter off every morning at 6:30 for the van ride to Governor School in Dublin. Those kids were there putting in the work  every morning. She didn't get her drivers license until April so I took her every morning from August until she could drive herself in April. I know the Governor School experience has benefitted her in ways we never anticipated. She has learned that she can accomplish anything if she's willing to put the time, effort and work to achieve her goals. The Breakfast Club teaches the athletes similar life lessons the mathletes learn by pushing themselves in the rigors of a Governor School curriculum. Her class-load is relentless!
Now, I just have to come to terms with her going over 1,000 miles away for college!

Very well could happen or could be worse but we heard the same thing last year. Radford has as much or more talent at the skill positions than anyone we'll see this year. (Graham will as well) Galax will have to pound the ball with long drives to keep Radford's offense off the field as much as possible to have a chance in this one.

This game will come down to line play.  If Radford Oline can give Clark time, then Radford will score lots.  If Radford Dline can stop the run then it will be a big day for Radford.  BIG ifs.  I expect this to be a high scoring game with probably Radford getting to a quick lead and Galax making a run in the second half to make it a game.

Very possible. The big difference in this game is the play style of the two teams . Radford likes to score quick with big plays, and are very explosive. Where  as Galax is very content to grind out 3 to 5 yards at a time and eat clock and wear on you, then they start pulling lineman and do a lot of reach blocking and those 3 to 4 yard gains turn into 10 to 12. If Galax can keep their O off the field they have a chance.

From my understanding grades 9-12 will be at Giles High School and grades 6-8 will be at Narrows High School. Won’t have to worry about building new schools.

I could be wrong but I believe Giles enrolled 460 9-12 and Narrows 280 9-12.

For the record, it is best to take assumptions out of the equation. With all due respect, we had every reason to think that we would be able to complete the current season. With a roster of 18 players, we have played with this many in the past, we expected to take our share of knocks this season but we also expected to finish the season. This wasn't the "good old college try," I assure you of that. Nonetheless, circumstances, which I cannot discuss, put the team in a very awkward predicament that the administration could not, in good conscience, allow the team to continue. Player safety became our number one priority and our hand was forced. Barring unforeseen circumstances, we would have never been in this situation and would not have been forced to make this decision and in all likelihood have finished the season.

Meh....We put together a couple of quick scores to start the 2nd half and Fort pretty much quit at that point. We played a cleaner, much more sound game in week 1 in the loss to Radford than we did Friday in the win against Fort.
12 penalties, put the ball on the ground 3 times, threw an INT in the end zone, and had (at least) 2 TD's called back for penalties. We'll have to dial in and clean it up against a good Giles team that won't give us the luxury of playing like that 2 weeks in a row and get a W, and Giles certainly won't quit like Fort did.

I will say that TD run by 9 in the far end zone was one of the most impressive I have seen in a long time.

Galax is Union on steroids. Never falters, always good at the LOS and can always run the ball.

Also technique. When I think of Galax, I think of perfect technique. Similar to Salem at a smaller classification, they just do everything well.

I know you weren't devaluing Giles, and like I wrote, I'm not a fan of the words trap game, but in this circumstance, it may apply and I agree with you.  Giles has a rich history and is trending in the right direction, but when you consider the schedule Galax has with the likes of Glenvar, Radford, Graham, and coming off a big win over Glenvar, and then going on the road to play a team with a short notice that runs a weird offense, I think it kind of fits.  From my perspective, it doesn't really matter.  I would just like a W at best, would we still be somewhat content if we made a good game of it with Galax that would show progress for our program.
