After watching all these teams play multiple times . The argument  for any of these players could last forever. All are very gifted and worthy of their accolades. If Webb, Beavers, and Harris on the same team they would present 3 different sets of issues for defenses. They compliment each other very well. Jenkins from GC is very similar to Webb and gets overlooked due to them being down, he played TB in a Single Wing system this season but I'd like to see him on a team with with a good QB like R/T/Rv/Graham have. 
Imo Bradshaw, Webb, Jenkins(GC), and Mullins  are athletes/Slot Recievers. 
Harris, Beavers, Jenkins(U) are Split Ends/"pure" wide recievers. Can't forget the guys from Abingdon which were pretty doggone good too.
A lot of reciever talent in the region this past season. 

We’ve been saying this all year.  There may never be another season with this much WR talent in SWVA, ever.  Elite talent.  Harris and Beavers had over 1000 receiving and both come back another year.  Webb, Jenkins and Bradshaw are D-1 and we haven’t MW tioned the two very good WRs for Abingdon and Jenkins from Union!

I agree Webb should be in the conversation as well. He may have been just as important to his team success as Harris was for Tazewell. I will say that Richlands was much better up front than Tazewell though. 
If we want to throw another snub in there what about Carson Jenkins. What is Gate City's record with out that kid. I know he wasnt a pure WR because they where about 70% single wing but damn that boy is a pure football player! 2D had some absolute studs this year at the skill positions. We can all look back on the year and be happy that we got to witness all this talent in one place for one season. Plus I really enjoy arguing who is the best of the best this year because there is plenty to choose from!

I don’t think you watched enough RV football this year.  RV is Tazewell…only with a better defense.  I’m not disagreeing with what you are saying about Tazewell and Harris.  I’m disagreeing with some of your RV observations.  RV didn’t have a running game once teams figured out it was just a basic zone read.  The difference is that Tazewell quickly understood what they were and weren’t and RV never really figured it out.  Both had Fr QBs and average, at best, lines and a stable of kids who can catch the ball. 
If you want to compare Harris to Beavers—-review their common opponents (Richlands, Graham, Central, Bluefield) to see how they played and impacted those games and break down their stats.  If you want an eye test…shit Hudl is out there and will show you everything.
I see two similar WRs but if you see one clearly better than the other, to each his own. I have both of them ahead of Dougherty, but that may be some SWVA homerism.  And if you want to really blow up this board…I think they are better pure WRs than Bradshaw who is more APB and slot.
 

No one argued in the last thread that meadows wasn’t the best player in the region. Argument was he may not win the mvp.  I would argue that if Lomax didn’t dress this year , that union may have lost 2/3 more games.  If beavers Doesn't dress I’m not sure if they don’t loose 1/2 games. Webb and Jenkins  the same for  their teams.  If meadows Doesn't play this season , I’m not so sure that the g men , wouldn’t still be undefeated.  No argument about who is best prospect , etc. Meadows has  the best accolades, and upside.   My only disagreement about it being a lock , was that someone like Bradshaw affects  the game in more ways than meadows.  Period.  Kicking game ,  occasional jet sweeps and the deep ball.  Also underrated at saving touchdowns. Webb had 3 returns  in the spring (3) in one game that were busted out past the 50 with one man to beat  (Bradshaw) and he  made all three stops or at least angled  him out of bounds.  Meadows wasn’t on the field. If one of those,  much  less 2 or 3 get returned.  Different ballgame.  Meadows very well may win award.  And it would be deserved.  I just said as a DC , Bradshaw keeps you up at night a little later.  Mix that with his effect on a game on special teams.   Oh. And someone said last year that “ if Bradshaw was dressed vs union in the playoffs , that the last play wouldn’t have taken place.   ? I was there and would agree .  So he isnt bad on D either.  Brody may be in the top 2/3 lineman in while state.  Once again. No knock on him. He is great.  But several of these local players are rivals 3 star. , under Armor all Americans , ranked nationally etc.   Brody has the best ceiling of all of them and  has  racked up the highest accolades , etc.  Just didn’t want Giles to act like I was ignorant to consider Bradshaw as my pick. It wasn’t to argue. If Bradshaw automatically affects the game when he breaks the huddle and he does.  . It should put him in  contention. .

For the record.  I’m a fan of both meadows and Bradshaw. .  The thread was about POY but I agree that their focus is on winning. .  Actually I’m a fan of all the good players in Swva.  Several good players on the field during these playoffs.  Lomax , Thomas , Jenkins , Webb , beavers , Harris, blevins ,  as well as the above mentioned players are rare. And your always gonna leave someone deserving off the short list but those players have been exceptional.  To have this many athletes in one season had been fun to watch.  I haven’t went back to the thread of the person who wasn’t impressed with meadows but geez.   How can you not. I’ve watched him probably 10 times and he always dominated his position. I can’t recall a more dominant lineman in the region in a long time. 

I think he was referring to the September Graham/Union thread. A particular individual wasn't very impressed with Meadows and was pretty vocal about it long after the game was over. 
 

I thought some football fans in Tazewell County were bad but you Union fans trying to run off Turner need to be committed into a facility. 

I honestly can’t believe we’re having this conversation.  Turner is a top level coach at any high school in the region. Maybe even the state.   If everyone knows what play he is running , every single snap , then a whole bunch of coaches need to be fired in the region for never stopping him.  

 Example.      The va high coach did a remarkable job this season getting those kids playing back to a respectable level.  They had talent all over the field .  Had a first quarter lead on union in the playoffs. Then the i Turner some how ran  the same play over and over and beat them by 20plus points.   He didn’t panic and continued to get the ball to Lomax with the expectations that he would wear them down and they couldn’t tackle Lomax late in the game. It worked.  It’s worked for a long time.  And like I said. Let’s fire the idiot coaches who loose to him since he is so vanilla.  Those guys , who he beats 70 percent of the time are the ones needing fired ........

Delusional. Be careful what you wish for, it can get much worse. You all ever stop and look at past "great" programs and where they are now? The man is averaging around nine wins a year. He's from our community and relates to our kids better than anyone else we could get in here. We're not more than eight months removed from him winning the Region D Title with a team most of you all on here said was the worst team in school history! From a consistency stand point, that program is the best in the area. They have made the playoffs every year the school has been open and have won at least one playoff game for ten consecutive seasons. And some of you all want to fire the coach?

100 percent that you should pull your starters once the other team does. Even after a 2 or 3 quarter butt kicking. That is an unwritten rule that good coaches still abide by.   Nothing worse than a coach letting his starters pad  their stats , after they’ve laid down vs another teams starters. Most good players don’t want to score vs another teams subs anyway.

You may get what you wish for, but just look forward to what you are going to get.  Travis Turner is courted for every big job in the area, and he always stays loyal.  What’s funny is how fans react, and how “SPOILED” some in BSG/APPY are.  The 80s-90s were two of the best runs in Southwest Virginia ever by PV/APPY!  Whether you want to believe it of not, that kind of talent isnt over there currently.  Graham has had a great run of talent, and it shows.  There is a lot of “FUTURE TALENT” on its way at UNION.  Style of play is one thing, but having the “JIMMYS and JOES” is different.

I think the player that gets most lost in these conversations is Zach Blevins, Graham’s QB. I don’t know how many times he appeared sacked and squirmed loose to get major yardage, a TD, or manage just enough to get a needed first down. I honestly think he’s the best all around athlete on the team. I’m not taking away from the others at all. Meadows without a doubt, defensive player of the year and Bradshaw offensive player by default I think if Graham wins the region but without Blevins at QB, I’m not sure Graham would have had the season they have.

No need to replace the HBC. They definitely need to make some changes. 

100-73 (.752) ; not a single losing season in 11 years with, IINM, 3 Regional titles. The consolidation of powerhouses more often than not results in a less successful program. IMO, the only realistic chance for a Union title was 2017, which would have required the Bears beat Appo and RE Lee in back-to-back games. Union fell just short 23-20 to the Raiders that season who then beat the Leeman by 4. Perhaps tweaks to staff and systems are in order, but replacing Turner would be foolish,
