Deleted Account got a reaction from Aftiqudgsa in The Media Sucks: Exhibit MMMDCCCLXXXVIII
This story represents everything WRONG with what is called "media".
This kid is guilty of no less than three felonies (if in VA): grand larceny, assault and battery of a law enforcement officer, and probably some attempted murder/manslaughter/wounding charge. The kid's looking at 3 years in prison at a MINIMUM. Sadly for the kid, the use of a car as a weapon justifies the use of lethal force in defense.
BUT OMFG THE DAD WAS JUST TRYING TO TEACH HIS SON A LESSON!!! EVERYONE FEEL SORRY FOR THE KID WHO JUST COMMITTED THREE FELONIES SERIOUS ENOUGH TO PERMIT DEADLY FORCE IN DEFENSE OF SELF!!!!!111oneoneone

Of course, Gawker makes you click through links to find the good stuff.
"McPherson reportedly followed the vehicle initially before activating his emergency lights. ... Comstock, at one point, is accused of stopping the vehicle and reversing, pushing the trailer into the police car and partially onto its hood, according to police.
Comstock then sped away again, police reported, running a red light and becoming unhitched from the trailer ... and eventually north on Morrill Road – against one-way traffic in the bike and pedestrian lanes, according to police.
Witnesses told police that people were jumping out of the way of the truck, which then jumped the curb onto a grassy area north of the university’s Campanile. McPherson unsuccessfully tried to ram the vehicle to get it to stop, police reported."

Deleted Account got a reaction from reuctucrart in SWVASports Survivor: What to Do?
Well, all 4 of us* sent in our pics. All 4 chose Wake Forest. All 4 watched in horror as Weak Florist scored 0 points against a Syracuse team that for all the world looked even weaker than Weak. So...we're all gone. We all hit the detonate button on the ship, and our voyage is over.
Or is it?
I hate ties. Ties are for sissies, like those who play female football across the pond. We need to decide a winner, dadgumit. And we need to set precedent for future seasons, because crazy things like "all 4 people choosing wrong in Week 10" will happen.
Suggestions:
(1) Play out the final four weeks in the style of Weeks 1-10
(2) Do an ACC Pick-'Em, best record at the end wins.
(3) Gathering at a secret place and playing Russian Roulette with 3 bullets.
Let me know. I want to get something off the ground for this week.
*BlueTornadoFan sent his pick to me on Facebook, something that I specifically requested not to do, but in time nonetheless.

Oh, to be there to watch it...I can only dream! Since I'm in Herat Province, Afghanistan, I guess I will just have to follow all the updates on here. Best of luck to both teams...I hope there are no injuries at this point in the season, everyone will be needed as both make a push for deep playoff runs. I will be pulling for the Tigers in Orange! No prediction though, Tigers will win.

A public apology is in order. That team showed heart that would make any Graham fan proud.
Very pleased to be dead wrong. And hypothetically broke.
Congrats to the G-Men! You shocked everyone tonight!

Holy cannoli. Since you brought up Clinton's "is", here's a definition I hope you'll really like.
in·al·ien·a·ble - inˈÄlÄ“É™nÉ™bÉ™l/ adjective: inalienable 1. unable to be taken away from or given away by the possessor.
Freedom of speech isn't inalienable in the eyes of the U.S. Constitution and its derivative case law, because time/place/manner restrictions of free speech are upheld under strict scrutiny if the government can show that the restriction will further a compelling governmental interest. Go try to hold an anti-war rally on a military base and see exactly how free your speech is. Sure, it may be in whatever John Locke-inspired philosophical universe the "natural rights" crowd inhabits. But we're clearly not in some ivory tower. We're out of the state of nature, baby. We've submitted to Rousseau's sovereign, and that sovereign says you don't get the unfettered right to say anything and everything all the time. It's a cute bumper sticker. But it's wrong. Wrong. Wrong.
Wrong.
As you deal with Political Science, I deal with law. Daily. I've paid good money and put in long hours for the privilege. And the Constitution, namely the First Amendment, is in the heart of my wheelhouse, mi amigo. We're not talking philosophy. We're talking the rule of law.
