WE also has a Sophomore Emily Saunders that stands 6'5" and is a game changer by herself.  They four teams they lost to three of them are out of state.  WE beat St. Joe's Saturday and that is a top three program in WV in any class for several years now.  If I remember correctly several of the girls on the WE team won an AAU national championship a few years back.  The AA title is WE's to lose and probably will be next year since most of that team is underclassmen right now.
 
This year's Bluefield girls team is probably the best they ever had by a long shot.  I've watched them a few times and they play pressure defense pretty well and are fun to watch.  The freshman guard has been a big additional for them this year. their problem is depth.  They only play about six in rotation.  They also beat Greenbrier East Saturday which was a solid win as well.  I'd love to see them in Charleston in the final game.

It's gonna take more than Young and Mullins to get this ship pointed in the right direction.  

I only said worst I've seen in several years, not ever.  Am I a bit biased?  Most likely.  When I see Dalton and a Bluefield player going for a rebound and Bluefield player has both arms around the ball while Dalton only gets one hand on it ball for a second or two reaching over the Bluefield player's back that should not be a jump ball.  Also, when I see two Graham players lower their shoulders sending Bluefield defenders flying during a dribble drives and one Bluefield player do the same on a dribble drive, all three of those should either be all charges or all blocking fouls.  I didn't agree that Bluefield should have been called for two blocks and a charge on those three plays.
I know basketball is difficult to officiate and when it’s a rivalry that adds to the difficulty, but I would think most fans would like to see better consistency given those examples I provided.
 
I would also like to commend GMS for those new bleachers and floor.  That's a great place for a basketball game.

Yubrenal Isabell was one of the best linebackers I have ever seen, from Bluefield.

One thing that any good team needs is talent.  Don't know what is coming through the ranks, but if there is any talent there, he will get the most out of it. 
 
I just hope folks give him a couple of years to turn things around before running him off too.

You are missing my point... It is an excuse that most teams use when their team plays poorly. "Refs were bad" is why they barely won or lost. 
 
The original comment about officiating was it was the "worst they have ever seen" yet these teams played a few weeks ago bluefield won by 30+. Last night, Bluefield won by 5ish. Toss out the idea a team improved or god forbid that one team get worse. It was officiating is all.

I don't see Graham or Richlands challenging the likes of Gate City or Radford this year.  Should be a good game between the two teams.  Graham is very quick on defense and gets in the passing lanes well.  If Richlands can beat the press they should beat Graham.  Graham has nowhere near the defensive pressure of Bluefield, but they do pressure the ball well.

I think you're missing the point. You guys think Richlands has the team to go on a deep run but right now you're basically the Hurley Football team of AA basketball. Because they're winning (most) of their games we should start chugging the kool-aid? Really the only difference between the two is that Hurley dominated everyone on their watered down schedule in the fall while Richlands is struggling with "inferior" teams in the winter. An 18-20 win season against scrub teams won't prepare you for good competetion in the playoffs..ask Hurley.. or ask Gate City - I'm sure they're not sweating them 3 losses in the Arby's against actual basketball teams.
 
What G-Man said is correct - Graham is the best team on Richlands schedule. Which is sad because the truth of the matter is that Graham isn't no where near being a top tier team this year. They're always going to hustle and play fundamentally but there is no where near the talent on the team as in the past 3 years. There isn't any Colby Hill's, Tony Hood's, or Roman Workman's on the floor. So if Fred wants to be considered a "great" team then they should beat Graham by 30.. which I don't see happening.
 
You guys need to see this for what it is. Trust me, I get it. You drop Union and Bluefield. You replace them with bad teams and undertalented tournaments. Pad the coaches son's stats and win 20 games and get 1 region win. That'll definitely be enough to make people forget how dirty they did Fuller & son.

This is for the Richlands guys. Why would you not want to play Graham with their best players on the court? It will tell you how you really stand! Not make you feel good about yourselves and then boom you meet them again in the playoffs and they end your season early because you were over confident and didn't know how good they really were.

Since it is solely up to Graham to decide games played... You are crazy local_insight.... or more like butt hurt from last season. 
 
I agree with EH31. Can you imagine having the game and departing only to find something tragic happened due to road conditions post game? But by God they got that game in at the house of hustle! 
 
County decided to eer on the side of caution... I applaud the decision. 

The game is tomorrow at the Armory. Should be a good one. Graham is without Morgan still..but are very aggressive and quick on defense and force a lot of turnovers. I give the Beavers the edge at home they have a couple if big men that may pose problems for Graham underneath and they come with a lot of pressure on defense. Thoughts?

Who's this you all you speak of?

To clarify, there was an "unfamiliar face" in the weight room one day supervising lifting with other coaches from the prior season. Am I correct? if so, and no interviews have been made, that is an iffy situation. I know this crap happens from time to time but kind of confusing when Tazewell is bringing a guy around the team who has not even been interviewed. Sure maybe the "unfamiliar face" might have been just stopping by lol but legit shady business. 
 
I know Tazewell probably wants Colobro like hell, but stay fair to the process. Apparently, according to other posters who have those ever so accurate inside sources, there is other qualified candidates. Mixed signals if they end up not selecting Colobro. Just my 2 cents... Thank God I do not have any interaction with Tazewell's program.
