if you are talking about, well I'm really not sure of the name Bullet or Billet whatever it is I can tell you that you don't want to be drinking beer leaning against your car waiting to leave after a butt kicking.

What a potential spot for Narrows.  Depending on the draw, they could be playing a team like Galax or GW for a trip to the state semifinals.  Would that qualify as Narrows's biggest game this century?

I was at the Richlands/Appo game last year and I made the statement "that's the fastest team I've ever seen in high school." 
I call games for Blacksburg now. I have no affiliation with them. Believe me, I was pulling for Richlands to beat them on the inside, while still maintaining professionalism and an unbiased approach on the outside. 
I say that to say this: Blacksburg's team speed would KILL what Appomattox had last year. It's crazy how fast they are. Their "slow" players are faster than most high school players. 
They lost because they played in very sloppy conditions against a very good Class 3 squad that came in and controlled the ball for 36 of the 48 minutes in the game. When you can have multiple 8 minute drives, you keep the ball away and then the rain limited the passing game for Blacksburg. 
Union would be able to keep Blacksburg running game "in check". However, Beck is the fastest player in the state and one of the fastest in the country. If he finds a hole, he's gone. And no one, even Mitchell, can catch him. 
If Union were to stop the run, Blacksburg is 5-6 deep at the WR position, with several burners and the best player on the team, Terry. If he was 4 inches taller, he's a big-time recruit right now, and he may still be before it's all said and done. He's a junior. 
It's no slight to Union. I respect the hell out of that program and what y'all have accomplished in the last 7 years. But Blacksburg would beat Union and every other team in Class 2. 

Narrows is still our rival but since they haven't beaten us since 2002 is it really a rivalry anymore?
Can the Waves do something tomorrow night that hasn't been done since 2002 and make this a rivalry again is the question

I believe RCITYHOO is referring to the 1971 Radford team.  That one team alone had 10 players play at the Division 1 level.  Frank Beamer was also on the coaching staff at Radford at that time as well.

And yes, RCITYHOO, those Radford teams, especially the '71 and '72 teams, should be in the conversation.

Gman says not to rank them Or Salem in our polls. I especially would avoid mentioning Salem in a poll because we REALLY don't care about them.

He never said you can't mention Blacksburg. He never said they can't be in a post when one of our teams is playing them. He simply said -- which is something that has been said FOUR THOUSAND TIMES -- that Blacksburg is not in our coverage area, and therefor, not eligible for our SWVA polls and stuff like that. That's it. 
Talk about them all you want. Talk about how Beck is so fast. Talk about how Terry is the best player they have. Talk about Thad. Just don't rank them in a poll on here. Pretty simple.

No joke!  It's been a little over 30 years since Galax and GW were in the same district. If everyone behaves like responsible adults, I think it will turn into one of the best rivalries in VHSL regardless of sport. 

Sounds like the little guys invited to the party from the MED held up well. Nice!

The best jamboree (back then it was called the grid-o-rama) was at Mitchell Stadium.  It was an all day event, with multiple teams, local and out of area playing.   Not sure when last one was--maybe around 2006 or 2007.    If you had the chance to attend,  it was worth the price of admission and basking in the sun.

He was a massive turd, and just about single-handedly caused the collapse of the Jeff Jones era at UVA.  Jeff was (and is) a great coach, but was a little too wet behind the ears to take over an ACC job.  He took chances on talented players of poor repute, and it burned him.  That, and the affair.
