I never whined and no excuses were made....what I said was polar opposite of that. Just spoke the truth about their lack of defense and consistency. It will get them beat if they don't work on it and that's just facts.

2. I didn't know they were assigned seats at high school athletic venues... Guess you've never been to Legion Field.

Every team has their "fans" that bring a bad reputation to a fan base. I've met alot of Union/PV fans over the years that were truly great people and class acts. A few bad apples will ruin the image of the whole bunch. If you choose to let a few douche bags of a fan base solidify your opinion of the whole group then that's your own ignorance. Overall, I feel like SWVA has possibly the classiest and most supportive fans of any area of the state.

You Union fans are the biggest bunch of crybabies I've ever seen.  I used to think Gate City fans were the worst but you guys have taken that title and run away with it.
 
You're never happy about anything, even when you win...its always something: the fans, the refs, the food you ate pregame, you're team didn't win by 1,000 points, etc...

I'm sure GC will just get the good athletes from TN coming over. I mean, that is all we get.......right? I am pretty sure the school board has all TN kids run a 40 yard dash before any final decision is made on whether that kid will be allowed to attend GC.
 
Amazes me that it seems a lot of people actually believe we have a bunch of TN kids coming to GC to play sports.

Not to stir the pot up anymore than it already is......but with the likelihood of Sullivan North, Sullivan Central, and Sullivan South all consolidating in the very near future, I foresee some numbers changing at GC. Not sure where the numbers are currently but from alot of people that I've talked to, their kids don't seem too thrilled about all the mess going on in Sullivan County and alot are considering the move to GC. Might have to do some school add-ons just to hold all the Tennessee'ans! Heck they might even change the name to the Gate City Volunteers (gagged a lil typing that) .....so in turn the Gate City Holdback chant will no longer be recognized.

Ya GC too (10-2). Both losses in the Arby's Classic to 6A Mentor (OH) (enrollment 2,800+) and 6A Tift County (GA) (enrollment 1,400+)

Like I said...........with her on the front row, they are a very good team. :)   Really..........she is the only hitter they have that puts fear in the other team. They feed her the ball often....which makes perfect sense.......I would have expected her to have some good stats. 
 
 
GC played sloppy against Richlands in the first round, and was sloppy against Glenvar last night. Was a great match to watch, just hate GC's season ended. 
 
I only got to see a few minutes of Marion's match. I would have to GUESS that Glenvar wins the match, but again, I am wrong a lot.

Not sure if you still want an opinion, but here goes. 
 
I BELIEVE Union has 8 seniors....that can mean a lot this time of year. 
 
Union is 1-3 against GC. GC...although they have a good team....does not compare to the team they had last year. 
 
Volleyball is a game of emotion. If Union can start fast and keep their energy level high, they have a chance to win a few matches. Their problem will be when McKinney is on the back row, or out of the game. With her on the front row they are a really good team. Without her, they are a slightly above average team. 
 
I think Union can win a few matches, but do not  believe Union or GC have state championship caliber teams...........but............I am wrong on a daily basis. 

Conferences are gone. Districts and Regions are back............starting in 2017.
 
It is my understanding that the ADs have been given the opportunity to come up with their own districts, and submit these ideas to the VHSL in December for approval.

Without a doubt........a down year for GC. Granted we have played a pretty tough schedule so far, but truth be told, we just don't have as much talent as in years past. 
 
A little turmoil going on in the program right now. 5 kids quit the team the week before the RV game. 

We enjoyed the "Enter Sandman" entrance last year. We also enjoyed the "Exit Sad Falcon".

I can't believe we were at #3. We had some great years, but we also had some pretty lean ones.

Union does have a good team. It is a team that GC does not match up very well with. GC is a perimeter shooting team (if they don't score in transition). Union has some long-armed defenders that make it hard to get perimeter shots off. 
 
If you can get 1-2 of those defenders on the bench in foul trouble, the Union team becomes much easier to beat. Or, if you have a couple of big men that can be physical and score from the inside, Union becomes much easier to beat. GC does not have that.

You seem infatuated with comparing Union to GC, well...actually you want to only compare regular season football records. That in itself is pretty funny. 
 
I don't think anyone on here would say that Union does not have a good football program. I'll take your word for it that the regular season football record is 2-2. I THINK GC has won two playoff games during that time, so I guess Union's real record against GC in football is 2-4. No matter what the record actually is, everyone knows that Union has a good program.

Uh............it was a tie game with 1:07 left in the game. I think that EVERY game tied with a minute to go is at least kind of in doubt. hahahaha
