I'd like to see all teams boycott playing them during the season leaving them with no games played. Hopefully the VHSL would then step in and do something. Its a rediculous situation and embarrassing at the same time. Bball_Fan and VFL62 1 1 Quote
Packman Posted March 1 Report Posted March 1 I think Graham and Va High should be able to put there teams together and play them to at least make the game interesting. Gridiron60 1 Quote
Gridiron60 Posted March 1 Report Posted March 1 John Marshall could choose to play an independent schedule and forfeit postseason playoffs but choose not to do that. Other schools have done that in football so it’s not like it can’t be done in basketball. It’s just beyond ridiculous at this point. Billy Haun is retiring and did absolutely nothing to remedy this situation. Quote
GHS89 Posted March 1 Report Posted March 1 What needs to happen is that everyone agree to leave them high and dry at the championship game. Celebrate the other semi winner as the state champ and walk away. Sucks for their semi opponent but what else you gonna do to get the point across. Quote
BBHoops_18 Posted March 1 Report Posted March 1 Don’t get why VHSL can’t make a special exception and just put them in class 5 or 6 but then those schools might complain however. Quote
Real Sasquatch Posted March 1 Report Posted March 1 A team that was ranked as high as #9 in the country and is currently ranked #13....and allowed to recruit Nationwide......against a 2A public school. I think their opponents should just start walking off of the court come playoff time, show a united front. I think it'll take litigation before something happens. Not sure what form that may take. Maybe a class action suit or something by 2A schools involved. Gridiron60 1 Quote
Elder statesman Posted March 1 Report Posted March 1 Here's an interesting idea. What if the team that made the championship, rather than forfeit, goes out and purposely throws the game. Doesn't even try to advance the ball, just makes a mockery of the game in general. That embarrasses JM and the VHSL in front of a full crowd including the recruiters there to watch JM players. I know it would never be done because whichever team makes is still has their pride to think about as well but that would get the point across. Bball_Fan and Gridiron60 2 Quote

BlueDevil4Life2008 Posted March 3 Report Posted March 3 When you can bring in all these guys to Richmond from out of state through your AAU ties. To a city where the population equals about all of the other towns populations in that class in the state and play a national schedule…. not to mention open enrollment. They have found every single loophole known to man and ran with it. Bball_Fan 1 Quote

Seems like it went out in single digits if I remember correctly Quote
1inStripes Posted March 4 Report Posted March 4 Score was in the upper 30s I think the night Burton upset TS. That being said it was Flick and the Titans who actually slowed the pace of play in the 4th quarter holding it for about 2 minutes or so. Quote

Weatherman Posted March 4 Report Posted March 4 Not sure how true it is, but heard the rumor that the John Marshall regime may end after this year, that the coach may be leaving for a different job. Quote

Yeah he's coming to the other side of the state to torture everyone here and give teams from the east a chance to play for a state championship.... Quote

He's coming to return the Blue Tornado back to it's glory days. On a serious note. I doubt he's going anywhere Quote
Real Sasquatch Posted March 5 Report Posted March 5 Landon Lee gets a technical. V High bench runs into the court. Not sure what happened ...Floyd County took their team into the locker room. V High was acting a fool, it appeared. The game has been called. Floyd County wins!! Well, don't have to deal with their nonsense again. 57-52 is the final. Quote

Real Sasquatch Posted March 5 Report Posted March 5 Also, shout-out to an old friend of mine, Mr. Barry Hollandsworth (Principal at Floyd) for looking out for the safety of the people there and quickly taking back control. Barry is first class all the way and he won't take any nonsense Quote
Real Sasquatch Posted March 5 Report Posted March 5 Ok. After going back and watching it again. #2 was running his mouth at the ref, got a technical. Then #5 stepped in to add his 2 cents and got another technical. That was his 5th foul, so he fouled out. As the refs gathered at mid court...a very large V High fan comes after the referees. In defense of the coaches, I believe they were trying to help get the guy off of the court. After that, it was a little chaotic and hard to follow. Floyd took their team off of the court while all of this was going on. Quote
