I think you all might be a little too high on Tazewell this group of seniors never won much of anything growing up and skill positions will be lacking I feel like

I agree with this statement completely it's much like when Shane Allen was at Tazewell he can't develop kids and Tazewell's feeder programs bottomed out. This would be his first group of his own kids correct?

I am most familiar with the Richlands guys named and I know it’s human nature to remember past guys with more fond memories but Brody Meadows was one of the best I’ve seen locally even though he was very recent

I agree with this completely football season is way too long already. It basically takes up the entire first semester for the teams that go to the state playoffs. Winter sports don’t get some of their best athletes until mid December or later.

Tazewell lost to Battle 7-5

The equipment is on site at Tazewell and has been moved the last couple of days so I imagine everything is in place. I think the bulldog and the T both at the 50 will be a little busy too I don't love that logo anyway but it seems like the school is going to try to go to some uniformity and it makes sense its been too many random things for a long time

I thought the Tazewell project included moving and modifying the visitors bleachers along with a new track which will require more expansion. I'm not certain about the depth of the Graham project I'm sure it will take longer.

I hope I'm wrong I really do because it could be a great addition but judging by the things I'm seeing out there currently and the pace up at Graham I'd be shocked if we aren't wondering when they are starting still in July or August. I just don't have my hopes up.

I don't think you can bring very many in because if the old guys are employed as teachers or inside school system its not like they are leaving their full-time jobs just because they don't coach anymore. You'd have to find a load of assistant coaches willing to move to a place and coach for a $2000 stipend or hope they get full time jobs. People always say clean house and bring in your own assistants but thats not really possible for most of SWVA jobs you are stuck with people who teach at the school or already work in the area. It cannot be turned around quickly baring some influx or transfers or the ones who transferred out coming back because the JV and middle school teams had very little talent

The ultimately won the game last night with JV at Tazewell but I wondered why they have no one back to field punts. Is that a program thing?

I thought Tazewell Varsity looked better once it went to the regular game format they struggled with the defensive end getting pressure to Carter if he didn't throw quick developing plays but he's got a lot of really athletic targets so I think the quick developing passes may be best anyway. My biggest concern for Tazewell is I feel like there is a lack of depth and a pretty big drop off between the firsts and the seconds. It looks like a lot of the same numbers on both sides of the ball and when one of those guys came out it was pretty obvious the fall off

I’m going off what I saw at Tazewell’s media day it looked like 10 seniors, 10 juniors, 13 sophomores, 8 freshmen and 3 8th graders who are playing JV. I could be a little off some kids were moving around and some kids may have been with the wrong grade but that’s close. I think I know of four kids who are supposedly playing who weren’t in any pics but could have been injured or on vacation

On the girls side so is Parker White from Marion she's won state as a freshman and in her sophomore season seems on track for another one.

Girls or boys? Girls I think VA High is the 3 Tazewell is the 4. Boys I think Tazewell is the 4 but not sure about the 3

I also heard rumblings that George Wythe or Fort Chiswell would be replacing Riverheads

I think one of those may have been hurt last year so I’m not sure how much he got to play I’m glad he’s back I’ll have to ask my son about the other I can’t think of who it would be

My kid was on the team and played quite a bit I think they went the first three games and never got a first down most games they never held the other team to a third down.
