I'm going to pick Lee 77, Gate City 7 just because Grapeape picked that ridiculous score over in the Ridgeview/Battle thread.

Good game! Seem that both teams struggled in parts of the game Lee early and Ridgeview the 2nd half.... Ridgeveiw has some play makers they aren't as bad as people makes them out to be. Like Lee they need to work on their Line!

Hopefully Ridgeview, Union, Central, and Lee can give the MD some wins.

I was very disappointed that Giles forbid the cannon for lee though. Very sad.

Best of luck to all the area teams, especially those SWVA teams playing teams from the other side of Roanoke.

I believe this will be another game like Lee @ Ridgeview will be close, hoping the Generals come out with the win.

I agree with you guys but there are a lot of talent on all teams that don't see much if any play time for some reason. I believe the coaches in most cases play kids that have lots of political power in the county or families are boosters I believe these things can create a shorter coaching career than losing unless cretain kids are played.

Union_2017 I'm not sure what players but I'm on the team and I've not heard any of us say this is the only game we want to win. Would we like to win YES we would but if not it's on to the next one.The past is the past! No bad blood here! We're just a bunch of kids that love the game and love to entertain our fans and make money for the rest of the sports. Prayers for both sides for no injuries.

If the Pack hadn't made so many mistakes they would've beat us by more than 5. The Pack had a whole lot of turnovers, the most of any team we've played this year. I understand it's Ridgeviews 1st year and they will be much better in the coming years. It's just like the Union/ Lee game last year. We (Lee) should've never been in the position were that call cost us the game, we were inside the 10 several times and made mistakes and didn't score.

Don't let the Lee vs J.I. Burton fool you we just had the worst showing in 3 years and Burton had a flawless game. BTW several of our starters were out and a couple were only 50% at best and most will be back this Friday. I know from this forum that you guys know all about people out and not 100% because of injuries. Either way looking forward to playing Friday night at RV I agree will be close but I think Lee will pull off the win.

Union fans are like UT fans rude I hate being around them!!!! although they are a lot of good union fans as well!

A few not mentioned out this way:  Randy Jenkins, played at the old Pennington high school, went on to Kentucky and then played for Dallas in the NFL, was a quarterback and punter.  Todd Kirk, also from Pennington, had a successful career at Tennessee.  Mikey Hughes, lineman from Lee High, was an All-American at Emory & Henry.

That game was unfortunate for both. Lee had our Bears, thought they had it won and then that call. Union battled. Unfortunately, they got the win from a bad call. Union benefited from a bad call. Every team has benefited from a bad call sometime or another. Richlands, Gate City, the former Powell Valley, the former Appalachia, Lee, Burton, etc. Unfortunately it has happened, still happens, and will continue to happen. Officials--as foolish as they are sometimes--are human. Nobody can change it. The powers that be can just take steps to keep it from happening again.            
 
Some of the Lee faithful from work say Lee won't be near what they were last season. I would like to see them do well. It will just make the Brawl for the Bucket that much more exciting. Before consolidation, during the Boot Bowl between Lee and PV, there were some good match ups. There were some Battles of the Boot where the games were just downright awful (1997, 2003, 2004, 2005 for example). Beating your rivals is that much more exciting when they are good. 
 
 
I would like to see a Union/Giles series. There was a little bit of bad blood between Giles and Powell Valley. 

Any projections on this?

No injuries that I'm aware of. We have been really blessed this year!

I'm hoping Lee can pull this one out of the bag. I thought Lee had some size till I seen Giles. My wife said " What is Giles feeding those boys!" Lol

General Lee surrendered in 1865 at Appomattox but 2014 the Lee Generals won the war and had there cannon! Lol hoping that all the mountain district all bring home victories next week!
