Jeremy has asked for every GC fans support and here you all here bashing the man before the first practice. This ain’t Akersland anymore. Jeremy, had a prior dedication to the girls b-ball team. I’m a firm believer that he should finish the season if he wishes. What example does it set for the girls he coaches if he quits on them? (No one answered this last time so I’ll ask again) Plus he is trying to recruit b-ball players. Good way to do it is to be around them daily during practices. 
 
As for Stan, the kids always loved him. He is a blue devil and a motivator. We need that around our kids. 
 
We’re trying to rebuild this ship, quit putting more holes in it. Jeremy and the program needs our support more than ever before. Get behind him and the team, we gotta get rid of the negativity. Jeremy isn’t a fool and is doing his thing.  Reed is right guy to lead the weight room. And I hear he’s whipping those boys into shape.

Even though I believe GC still has more talent. There is one thing I’ve have always been told and believe. And I also believe it’s why GC won last night. Heart > Talent. GC could have folded when they knew Zac wouldn’t play vs WC, they could have folded down double digits to Union last night with Zac out and Dean unable to break out of the triple team. This team found a way to win despite Dean only having 11. That my friend, is pure heart....and Scotty out-coaching Moore in the 2nd half.  

Hats to the whole GC team last night. I feel like everyone stepped and got things done without Ervin. Dean dropped 40 and we got 21 from the rest  of the team which is huge considering the rest of the team probably hasn’t combined for that much in a long while. Very good defense, looked like the days of old. Very happy with the team effort. GC now leads the series 17-0 in boys, poor McAnus. 

The ESPN thing is a hoax. Not true. The Ervin thing started last night. Not sure if true or not. 

GC boys run ZERO offense. Its run around and chuck a shot up.  No one looks for the ball at all....its all Zac and Brad dribbling around.  And why Coach doesnt run a 2-3 zone on D is still mind blowing.  Battle eat GC alive with backdoor cuts, give and go, and pick and roll. Literally layup after layup right through the middle and GC made no changes.  Battle has no size at all and scored at will in the paint.  Going to zone and stuffing the paint full made too much sense. Would allow for everyone to be in position to rebound too....which also makes too much sense.  But im just a bleacher coach and probably dont know what I'm talking about.

If we can man up vs the Browder kid we will win. Make DB shoot the ball. It’ll be a heated game.  DB’s coach wants to play us so bad. It’ll be fun, hate I gotta miss it. Especially after DB decided to talk trash while they were walking off the court as GC came on for warmups. 

Hope we beat DB by 100. 

GC couldn't beat DB by enough points for me to be satisfied haha However, I'll still take a 1 pt win.   Wish GC had got to play them last year.

Tj is a pretty good football coach.  His basketball teams can tackle with the best of them. Let him have a go at it.  

There is a reason wise’s colors are red.   TJ coaches that cheap shot stuff.  He can’t coach basketball so he has to resort to those dirty cheap shots.  The thread about his boy earlier in the year and the comments I made were confirmed tonight.  I hate the kid got hurt but his dad’s coaching style was I said it was karma.  Again....I hate it for the son but the coach teaches his players to be dirty and try to hurt people.  He has never beat gc and it drives him to coach this way and one day something really bad will happen.

The first scrum I cant remember what player for GC got fouled but he got whacked and was on the floor and the boy from Wise that fouled him was tangled up with him but didnt fall.  He hovered over him and either mouthed off or made contact with him again while he was down.   It happened on the opposite end of the court from me so it was hard for me to see it all really good.  But Ervin  went to help out his teammate really quick and got up in some faces along with another player or two.   
 
The 2nd scrum that happened on my end is the one that caused the assistant coaches from Wise to hit the court along with several of their players that were on the bench.   Had fans walking behind the score table coming towards Scotty that had to be escorted back to their seats.  I think Scotty and McAmis got into it at some point during that mess but couldnt tell for everything that was unfolding at once.  Then GC team had to be escorted to the locker room at halftime. 
Honest to goodness....it was like Jerry Springer......but wayyyyyyy better. As long as no one legitimately gets hurt I live for these games.  Never know what your gonna see haha

None of the 7 state championships were in football, which was what was referred to if I'm not mistaken.

Abingdon actually has 7 state championships across 5 different sports, including 2 in 2017, most of which earned while competing in a higher classification than Gate City.

They lay eggs and die I believe. Their eggs will survive the winter months and hatch during the spring...I think.
