I was Michael's first Field Training Officer and then his first partner at ROSP. I was so impressed with him instead of releasing him to my watch commander I asked to keep him in my building. We bonded as brothers and rode to and from work. We discovered we'd both had very similar tough upbringings having lost our dads way too soon,and having siblings to raise very young.. I loved him like a little brother,and I've cried a thousand tears. Oh how I will miss him bearhugging me with that crooked grin each time I'd see him. I will miss him stopping by the house to talk when things were tough. I will miss giving him hell about the Dallas Cowboys-so many other things. Michael Chandler was the kind of man that you'd want to marry your daughter. Sorry to ramble guys. I'm still struggling with this,and I desperately want justice.. Football just doesn't seem so important right now:( Red Onion and Wallens Ridge joins the other agencies with profound sorrow. My eldest is a police officer in a large city. The worry is crippling,but the pride is profound. It was an honor standing shoulder to shoulder with him for the first time at Michael's service . Michael would have LOVED that:)

Such a class act, I along with the rest of the Big Stone Gap Police family,WCSO , Va State Police and Michael’s family are so touched by Union Bears and Graham’s football and school kindness . Thank you , football is just a game but this is truly life at its best

Graham will be honoring fallen officer Michael Chandler tomorrow with a sticker on their helmets. Fans are asked to wear blue in his honor as well. The Graham Football Boosters and the girls basketball basketball team will be donating their half of the 50/50 tomorrow to the family of Michael Chandler. 
Come out tomorrow to the game and support this great family.

Nope, fumble in the red zone with the opportunity to go up two touchdowns and punter calling his own fake from the goal line was what killed Union.

The first game what killed Union was not being able to tackle the QB.  Couple times they had him sacked and I'd look away and then here he comes running back across the field.  Also the holding has to stop or there's no chance

The one thing I can say for sure is this—-Bradshaw will not get to touch the ball on a punt or kickoff , unless he is standing out of bounds

What we need is that kid from VA HIGH that bounced the ball off our linemans helmet  and straight back to his guys, best onside kick ever

THOMAS JONES was told he is not div 1 he still owns records at UVA, J JONES his brother was told he would never see the field at NOTRE DAME. both were drafted and played in the NFL, HEATH MILLER,and east TN JASON WHITTEN all had great careers ,so this SWVA has no chance or talent thing kills me.LOMAX can play with anyone, same with BRADSHAW,BEAVERS ECT....look at APPO. loads of talented kids as well as VA HIGH

Agree 100%....and on the ones that are on the line of D1 or not(a Lomax, Jenkins type)....offer a PWO and see if they are D1 or not....if they are great...if not then not much lost IMO...but it's a chance you have to take

Im hoping for a Union win so if Appo makes it that far in playoffs we dont have to travel.

Thanks for going there…I still have nightmares about that last play 😂😂 I get some big time football anxiety when we play Union especially after that run by Satterfield, lol.

they game planned for LOMAX or LOAD-MAX back in the spring and SATTERFIELD took it to the HOUSE

Im very saddened to read of the passing of one of BSG finest my thoughts and prayers for his family and community. 

I thought the VHSLrule was "if you competed in another state in a sport,you could not play in that sport until the following season'????or is that for in state transfers only????.There is a big risk there too, just ask GRAHAM CLARK (FORMER DB COACH AND AT THE TIME CHILHOWIE COACH, he had a kid transfer in late and only used on the kickoff teams, he was found to be outside the eligible guild lines ,so they forfeited 10 games that year and they should have won state

He has beaten everyone in the region, he has guided the Bears to the state semis , Appomattox has beat us every time , but who have they not . A injury here or there has kept the Bears from making that next step. You know Graham wishes he would go somewhere else
